This long-time Niner fan is not going to let anyone get away with pretending the Bears were the dominate team of the 80's, even if it is a "sidebar." Pure, unmitigated bull. And it's not an opinion. It's a fact. Don't be calling a team that had one championship in the 80's the definition of dominance unless you want to be ridiculed. The Niners won FOUR championships in the 80's. That's the definition of dominance.

This. How can the Bears be the definition of dominance when they only won a single championships, and was dominated, multiple times by the 49ers in that decade? Whether it be the 84 or 88 NFC Championship games, or the 41-0 massacre on Monday Night Football, outside of the Bears one year of glory, the 49ers owned them.

This makes me all the more confident that Baalke can come up with another gem or two at the CB position in next years draft.

The bears were a caricature of a blue collar team and were never considered the best team in the 80's in the 80's. They had a subpar QB and a really good, unusual defense. If someone thought/thinks they are the team of the 80's they had to have grown up in Chicago! LOL! Everyone was shocked that they won the super bowl...not a sign that everyone thought they were a dynamo!

Guys - this has been covered. No one here believes that the frisked bears were the team of the eighties. Only the author of the original article who was quoted by a poster.
Lol - frikken, not frisked. Autocorrect.

Chief's D winning the game all by themselves.
Again the Chiefs' D saves the day. This team is a joke. They're still the most overrated team in the league.
