Alex Boone not happy with current contract and likely will miss voluntary OTAs. Question is whether he will miss mandatory minicamp June 16.

After a breakout 2012 year (+22.9 overall grade), Alex Boone took a step back in 2013 (-1.9). T-34th of 59 guards in Pass Block Efficiency.

When you have two years left you should be here. We aint thinking of extension until 2015. Get on the field. We paying Kap next so play this year then hold out next summer

Well he is only making like 2.4 and 1.6 million I think. Was a 5 year 7ish mil deal so he is pretty under paid. He probably wants us to add a few years on (2016 2017) and raise his 2014 and 2015 a bit.

Does this put other player's contracts in jeopardy? Especially when that player is playing a position loaded with talent. Or do we let Boone holdout and hope someone steps up.

49ers FO has been very good with contract extensions, this is not the way to go. Well, maybe if he showed some Boone first, he'll get more $$.

idk... I don't think he holds out for big money, because it doesn't look good if he is looking for any big money. He knows our other guard is due for an extension this year. He may be attempting to get a better deal by the beginning of the season but hopefully this doesn't drag on deep into camp. All the sudden we are extremely thin at Guard... but we have 2 of the top 10-15 IMO. ironic
