The problem is, Ponder is already good enough to win with a lead. That's basically the first step, and he's progressing. He does as he is asked, takes care of the football, gains first downs and runs the clock. Basically what has been typically asked of Alex Smith.

The team doesn't live or die by Ponder unless they are in a hole, which I don't think will be a problem too often with the defense firing the way it is and AP wearing the opposition down. I think these Vikings are in it for the duration of the race.

Amazing how that NFC North is completely upside with Minny and Chicago on top, and the Packers and Lions at the bottom. Yet all 4 still have the capability to be dangerous. Hopefully that division cannibalizes itself and takes some key players along with it. As long as it's not Peterson. Need him for FF purposes.
