How is Wilson looking? Anything to be concerned about?
Two things.
First, Wilson looks very good both running and passing the ball. The Seahawks look like they will have the most expensive backup in the NFL in Flynn.
Second, the Niners should be a little concerned if the Seahawks end up with a QB capable of making plays. Will be interesting to see how the Niners D will game plan against him...............
Starting a 3rd round pick over a high priced free agent? Looks like the Seahawks care about winning more than we do. Most on the WZ think Harbaugh puts winning second to draft status.
The Hawks have a good offense with Russ under center and a lot of talent around him but their OL is shaky which he compensates for by moving in and out of the pocket. That said, the Hawks don't have game changing talent to create mismatches that you have to double defensively. We will own them defensively. We will snuff out the run then with our front collapse the interior pocket while maintaining gap integrity and keep him from the outside with the relentless pressure from aldon and brooks. If he scrambles into the second level, hello willis and bowman. As for his passing, he will have to make play after play downfield with pressure up front from inside a collapsed pocket with his height deficiency.
If he overcomes all of that consistently, then great but SEA defense will be tested vs our offense because we have talent that you must overcompensate defensively to subdue. You must have 8 or 9 in the box to stop Frank Gore and his running mates in this intricate rushing attack and when you do you leave yourself susceptible to one on one vs Moss and VD. Both of these athletes require a double team. After which our speed at WR must be accounted for with Ginn Williams and Jenkins and you still have to find a way to stay with Delanie and the backs out of the backfield receiving such as Gore Hunter and LMJ.
Russ Wilson wont hurt us like we will hurt them. Lastly, our ST puts Russ in situations where he has to score from 80 yds out every single time. We nail essentially every kick and cover just as well. SEA has a nice team and a shot at winning, but I am not ready to anoint them as division favorites just yet.
