haralson is too valuable to ya relative to his trade value. we only carried three olbs or something ridiculous and he was one of them.

He was one of them because of us easing our #7 overall pick into the game, now that guy is ready to play on an every down basis, Haralson sounds expendable at $2.5Million when he is expected to see the field on 3rd down only if not less then that. He'll need to rework his deal, we didn't draft 2 day 2 talent OLBs for no reason last week. Haralson faces an uphill battle, he has only the slightest of edges over Cam Johnson to make the final 53.

Your comments in bold are a total contradiction... which probably means that I shouldn't take you seriously about Haralson, but are you nuts? We will not trade Haralson unless someone stupid offers a 1st or 2nd rounder for him. He is a solid OLB. A decent pass rusher (though not as good as Aldon or Brooks). He used to be our top pass rusher at OLB... remember? He will see considerable playing time in a rotation on 1st and 2nd downs to help keep Brooks and Aldon fresh. And if someone gets hurt, he can fill in with little drop-off.

We have plenty of cap space. Haralson may be overpaid, but he is valuable enough that we will let him play out his contract.

Agreed. At this point of the off-season with a complete 90-man roster in place, our cap space and salary structure shouldn't be a major concern. The only concern should be fielding the deepest 53 man roster possible, and IMO that roster will include Haralson.

Trade Haralson to them for a draft pick, now.

Yep, and he likely would of anyway with Jarrett Johnson now inn San Diego, they have little left, Sergio Kindle, who had a head injury back after being drafted, Michael McAdoo(UNC player who came out in Supp Draft and wasn't drafted), and former Utah DL Paul Kruger. So not much experience.
Basketball is a helluva sport

The Bengals ans Steelers must be stoked right now.
Wow, not only out all this season but if he's like Peterson was for us it'll take 2 years to get back to top speed. Then your looking at him being very close to the end of his career. IDK we may never see the same ol' Suggs.
harlason IS NOT a good pass rusher, he's decent against the run not all world and he's a good locker room presence that's about it.

To add to this as good as season as Aldon Smith had last year the coaching staff kept him well away from any run play defence. Haralsons play at OLB is needed in these situations his Run defence at this stage of his career is better than Aldons so we definitely need him. I think people sometimes get caught up with individual stats than rather look at the whole picture. The Question people have to ask would Aldon Smith have had as many sacks if he had to actually played OLB every down. Is Aldon Smith even an OLB .So before every is quick to jump on Haralson just ask your self who are we going to get to replace him and why do we want to screw with something that worked pretty well last year.

TSiZzLe, Get well! I hate see ballers go down.
Crap, the Ravens are probably the only other team in the NFL I want to do well, especially after the way they went out of the playoffs like the niners did. Hopefully they have someone who steps their game up and contributes in his absense.
