On the Cardinals people may flock to the "big" names, such as Dockett or Adrian Wilson. But, in my opinion, at this point in their careers neither are better than what we currently have.
Patrick Peterson really struggled at CB. Maybe he will be great in the future. But we didn't see it last season. Campbell is a talent. Though, there is no way he starts over J. Smith. Replacing McDonald would see more likely.
On the Rams? Anybody?
On the Seahawks? No linebackers. Browner may get the nod at CB. Possibly Earl Thomas at Safety.
Any other undeniable defensive starters in the NFCW? It's looking like slim pickings.

Earl Thomas and Cam Chancellor could both be starters along with Calais Campbell. But that's about it.
this thread would probably do better in Niner talk.

Lets see who wouldn't get replaced.
Justin Smith
Patrick Willis
NaVorro Bowman
Aldon Smith
Ahmad Brooks
Carlos Rogers
Dashon Goldson
Donte Whitner (Wouldn't sit him)
Those who could be replaced
Ray McDonald
Isaac Sopoaga
For sure could be
Tarell Brown
So for those who could or would be I would take these
Chris Long, Calalis Campbell, Brandon Browner and Red Bryant.
Wouldn't start Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor or Patrick Peterson over Rogers, Goldson and Whitner.
I honestly see little flaw in our defense, only CB could be upgraded. I'm still skeptical about Brown as 2nd CB. Reason why I wanted Rogers back, I wasn't feeling fine with Brown as #1 and Culliver as #2, then Brock as #3. I'm fine with Rogers/Brown/Culliver/Cox/Brock in that order.

I always admired Adrian Wilson from the Cardinals, that guy is good! Although maybe he is getting older. Then I'd say Earl Thomas at the other safety and some of the defensive lineman previously mentioned. Interesting thread!

Long over McDonald but I don't think Thomas over Goldson.
That's it. Just long.

Dockett for sure. But he hates the Niners, probably wouldn't happen. It's fun to theorize though. Smith - Soap - Dockett

All NFC West 3-4 Defense
DL: Cambell (AZ) -- Branch (Sea) -- Smith (SF)
LB: Long (StL) -- Willis (SF) -- Bowman (SF) -- Smith (SF)
S: Thomas (Sea) -- [Wilson (AZ) / Chancellor (Sea) / Whitner (SF) ] could make an argument for all 3, take your pick. For one season? Still Wilson
CB: Sherman (Sea) -- Rogers (SF)
DL: Cambell (AZ) -- Branch (Sea) -- Smith (SF)

Long is such a beast. The rest can suck it.
