Snubbed? Stafford was way more deserving. He actually had to "come back," Alex just hung around and played well. Plus, Stafford had a better season anyway. There's no way Alex should have won that award.
Aldon and Justin got snubbed.
You're crazy man. Alex Smith came out of a s**tton of chaos from coaches and fellow players, a huge arm surgery, another broken arm, fans booing him every play, being benched two or three times in a single season, etc. Stafford had an injury and then stayed healthy. Alex was far more clutch when it mattered and was a big part of the reason why we made it to the NFCC.
Aldon on the other hand played something like 400 snaps less than Miller and wasn't even a starter. I'll agree about Justin though.
Dude look at the numbers Stafford put up they were insane. Also this is not a team award so the rrecord does not count and its not Stafford's fault he didnt have our defense and special teams.
It's the quarterback we're talking about, of course it's a team award. You take the other team members out of it and you're left with no real stats at all to begin with.
In my opinion, Alex was dealing with a lot less on offense than Stafford was and played a lot smarter. Staffords main play was "lob it up to Megatron and hope" while Alex (again to me) played very very smart and made a bunch of plays and decisions that benefited this team much more than Stafford did for his.

Come back player of the year is not a team award its an individual award.
Also it doesn't matter how Stafford got those numbers the fact is that he got them and they blow Alex's numbers out of the water.

If you're trying to argue that Stafford was reckless with the ball as a reason why he doesn't deserve the award remember he had no running game and defense and he only had 16 INTs compared to over 40 freaking TDs where as Smith had 5 INTS and ONLY 17 TDs. Wouldn't you rather take Stafford's numbers? Even if he did put those numbers up out of need cause of his teams shortcomings but imagine that offense still playing like that if they get their defense fixed, would you still think Stafford was a fraud?
What if Stafford had our defense and running game and still put up those numbers?

I simply can NOT believe that Suggs got it over Smith. 9 of Suggs' 14 sacks came in 3 games and that was his only responsibility too...it wasn't like he was a dominant force against the run or in coverage. So think about that for a sec...his only job is to rush the passer and yet in 13 of 16 games he combined for 5 sacks. Vs. a guy like Justin Smith who on almost every play caused 2 o-linemen to block him which in and of itself is of TREMENDOUS value even if he didn't make any plays...just the value of freeing up Aldon, Pat, Bo, etc. Think of guys like Pat Williams, Ted Washington, etc. Those guys are considered OUTSTANDING players even though they weren't playmakers but just because teams had to use 2 OL on them all the time...Smith had that same attribute PLUS made TONS of plays in both the passing game and running game despite all the attention on him (and, as I said, allowing those around him to make way more plays than they ordinarily would have). As far as I'm concerned, Smith's 2011 season is up there with any other single season by any other defensive player EVER. He really was THAT dominant.

No I wouldn't want those. Smith's numbers are the way they are because of how smart he was with the ball. any one of those extra INTs could be game changers and lose the game for your team. I would always take the guy with 5 ints. Staffords high TD rate came because we knocked their RB out for the season and they had to rely on Megatron a bunch.
and no matter what you say, if you're picking a QB for comeback player of the year you're going to be basing most of it on what his team mates did.
