He is the right size but the wrong character.

Would be nice to improve in these areas,,,

Hmmm,,,3rd down and Red Zone production. That's the 2 area's the 49ers need help in. Just sayin'.

Yea it would be nice to improve in those areas and I'm not against the idea of bringing him back.
Important thing to remember it came down to the Giants, Jets and 9ers for him to sign with and even with his modest season I dont think his suitors will sky rocket, in fact I think the Giants will only bring him on if Manningham leaves in free agency. This leaves us as his primary team to sign with, I'd be thrilled with the signing but I think it funny that everyone is suggesting we bring him on for situational football when everyone laughed at the idea of drafting a big guy in 4-6 round for the exact same purpose.
I suppose it would be good to know that we know what Plaxico will bring to the table but I'd seriously be worried about his ability to make it through an entire season as the legitimate #1/#2 option in tandem with Crabtree.

I wouldn't mind Plax at all,. We know he shows up in big games. Of course he's lost a step but dude is still a legit red zone target. He wouldn't be a long term solution so you would still need to draft a young guy. And he wouldn't be coming in to be a number 1 guy. Plus he was supposed to visit the Niners last year. I think they might take a flyer on Plax. I think they would have rather signed Plax instead of Braylon last year.

People who are saying we wouldnt sign him because of character issues clearly either forgot or are ignoring the fact that we tried to bring him in last offseason.

I for one don't really care about players celebrating, its their job to entertain, when it gets out of control though, I think that's on the coach and the organization to keep in check so that it doesn't interrupt the locker room. I just find it kind of funny that the NFL as a place for the Pac-man Jones, Leonard Little, Michael Vick's in the league but guys that are vocal and excessively celebrate eventually are kicked to the curb.

Rachel Nichols @Rachel__Nichols
Just spoke to Plaxico Burress - said he's spoken to Michael Vick several times about signing with the Eagles, "would be something special.
