~ Better O Line protection than given credit for.
~ Continuity and chemistry. Many years in the same system with the same guys.
He has a tremendously advantageous situation. When the backup can come in and look like one of the best QB's who ever walked the earth it says something about the talent level on that team.
So how do you explain last year when in the 2 games he played in he was 40 for 66 with 3 TDs and 2 Ints with an 82 rating?

A guy can't have a few sub par games and still be in a great overall situation over time?.....
Which aren't even that bad BTW. Tamba Hali had something to do with that. Pass rushing works.

Rodgers truly does have talent around him , but Brees is better by making all around him more talented. 7 different receivers with 30+ receptions. Surgical precision makes it nearly impossible for his receivers not to succeed. Don't bow down to the Pack dude. Brady's Pats were even more impressive on the near perfect season mission and it turned out to be only 'near perfect!' Would love to see Pack vs. Saints yet again this year to settle the score, but not likely. As far as Flynn stepping in and looking that good , maybe he really is that good or can be that really good in any system . No way that system is SO good that just any backup throughout league could have posted Packers franchise setting records like that. Of course, maybe so because D was not the theme of that game ! Staffords #'s were equally impressive and I don't see you praising their system . Isolated incident whereby Flynn got to be a crossover of Fred Lynn hitting Grand Slam in no D type All-Star game! Let it go and watch the Niners or Saints shut the Packers system down.

slant , screen, checkdown, draw, playaction lob, slant, screen, screen, checkdown, slant, call for pass interference lob, run TD
That is McCarthy's method.
It's cheesy and if you execute these plays enough in practice, you'll succeed in putting up big numbers, either in say H.S. football, or madden lol
McCarthy should get all of the credit, but THERE are holes. You have to bump and run well as well as watch for the 4 second timer pass.
They get the ball out within 4 seconds no matter what which is GREAT coaching. No sacks, safe dumpoffs, and high percentage receptions. if you whiff on the fake bump and run and they lob it, you're gonna need a good safety man to have your back. The safety will have trouble though, guarding the damn screens and slants up the middle. It's cheesey to the max, but very effective.
Oh and the fact that the defense gets AT LEAST one Interception a week does not help your field position.

thats probably the best way to put it.. and that would be saying it lightley.. ive grown fond of our WR"s since they are in 49er uniform but looking at alot of other WR's around the league they seem like they would compete with Crabtree in alot of ways.

I think Crabtree would be sick on a team like the Pats or Packers. But seriously, Ted Ginn, Brett Swain and Hastings should not be in the league. Ted Ginn is a very good returner but he's not a wide receiver, he cant catch.
Crabtree would be the Packer's #3 receiver, sadly, and Nelson/Jennings/Jones/Cobb would all start for us

So freakin what. Rodgers is great and anyone trying to come up with ways to discredit him is simply showing whatever bias they have against him. Flynn had a big game against a vulnerable Detroit secondary in a very high scoring game. Stafford had 520 and 5 as well. No one was playing defense that game. I don't understand why that means Rodgers is less than spectacular or whatever point this thread is trying to make.
Maybe Flynn is a good up and coming qb. Some teams and scouts are just better and finding talent at certain positions than others. We'll find out next season when he's starting for someone. Elvis Grbac came in for us and put up huge numbers. Does that take away from Steve Young? Young came in and had a hall of fame career with us. Does that mean Montana wasn't so great? A qb needs talent around him to have a great year. Rodgers having talent around him doesn't make him less of a player.

Yeah their WR's are way better. And they catch everything. No drops.

A makes him in a VERY ADVANTAGEOUS SITUATION. The team around you MATTERS!....
If a scrub backup came come off the bench and post 480 yards and 6 TD's like a walk in the park it says something about the talent surrounding the QB position on that team.

Stop trying to discredit Aaron Rodgers he is a great talent himself.
Cant believe the lengths some Alex Smith fans go to discredit other great QBs.

How so ?
Spewing anti-Alex at every opportunity, almost every thread, comparisons, etc. I agreed with you because it's true, now do the honest thing and admit the negative ones do the same thing. Or not, I don't care.
