He's shown flashes...and given our secondary situation...I'd want him back for the right price.

I would rather have Goldson than Reggie Smith. Same amount of coverage ability, but less tackling ability, not a major threat to strip the ball and nowhere near as heavy of a hitter.
Folks, at the right price, Goldson is worth keeping over Reggie. And for the Cowboys.. ANYONE is a massive upgrade over who they had last year. Alan Ball was hideous. Back-up material at BEST, and a #3 safety on any decent defense's depth chart.

Proof that you can make anyone look good in Youtube highlights.
The truth.
And please Cowboys pick his ass up.
honestlym with the way out front office is handling free agency we probably wont get anything better so please resign him.
Lies.
Reggie Smith's play would be on par with Goldson, give him a shot at FS.
I believe Reggie Smith would be better than Goldson at FS. Goldson was horrible last year. I doubt it can get worse, and chances are we'd get better without him if we just let Reggie play instead.

I'd keep him at 4-5M a year. No more than that.

Agreed.
Goldson sucks. I'm sorry but he was BEYOND disappointing last year and was BY FAR the biggest liability in our defensive backfield (yes, even worse than Clements IMO). I know it's wishful thinking, but if we bring him back it should only be to give him a look at Strong Safety where his talents would be better utilized.
He can hit like a truck, he just can't cover to save his life.
Hitting like a truck does little good if you don't wrap up, which he doesn't do well.

He played FS all last year with the exception of a few plays right? i definitely agree if he comes back he should play SS, and let reggie smith play FS.
Or big nickel it up and have Taylor mays out there with Goldson, and Smith..

Shut up gore doesn't need to know he's really worth 100 million! He's being underpaid for being a workhorse on a bad team!

I agree, Smith is not worth that much, but neither is Goldson. Smith gets the premium for being a QB.
And
Has Gore said what his reason was? I think he's just looking for job security and doesn't want to be wondering what's going to happen at the end of the year. Think about it from his perspective. He may not necessarily want more money, but more security. If he plays on his current contract, which ends at the end of the year, he risks uncertainty in his future due to potential injuries or other issues. It's the same reason everyone hates to be franchise tagged.
