(Of course I'm just guessing)

Saw something on the Versus ticker saying Kolb couldn't be traded until a new CBA is in place.

nfl network and espn also stated that Kolb can not be traded until a new CBA is in place

He's better than anybody we have right now.

How is he better than Alex Smith?

Terrible deep ball, terrible mechanics, worse accuracy on short to intermediate throws than Alex Bust himself..

And people want to swap 1sts for this guy

AJ Feeley....Round 2.

Kevin Kolb = The next Matt Hasselbeck (if transplanted into another WCO).

This guy isn't close to having the accuracy Hasslebeck had in his prime. You serious?
I am very curious in Harbaugh's planes for rejuvenating the 49ers. He must have a long term plan for turning this around. His choice for QB will reveal a lot.

That's a good point. Are they currently allowed to trade players for draft picks without the CBA? Not sure they would allow that b/c teams would use that as a loophole.

No, can't trade current players for picks in this draft, which is why it's highly unlikely he is traded. I would be surprised if they do it post CBA for next year's picks w/o knowing where those picks will be.

True it's gonna be really weird if free agency ends up happening after the draft instead of vice versa as usual.

I wouldn't give them anything more then a second round pick. Anything more then that the eagles can suck on Eddie House's balls.
This guy's not worth a 1st but I'd give a 2nd maybe.
If Kolb is smart, he signs the Franchise tender. He would be guaranteed to make a substantial amount of money in case of a lock out and still be a FA next year.

So why did Reid trade McNabb and feel comfortable naming this guy as the starter ? If his mechanics and accuracy are as bad as you say they are why did he not declare a QB competition between Kolb & Vick ? Why did they throw 12+ million at Kolb over 2 seasons ?

So who is right and who is wrong here, Reid and the Eagles FO or you ?

1) Vick is the one getting franchised
2) Kolb has one year left on his deal

Why did the Vikings give Favre 16 million? Obviously if a team spends high money on a player, that must mean they are great. Outstanding logic.

Nope sorry try again. I never said that, but if they give a player that kind of money they usually feel good about what he can do for them...

Giving Favre 16 million after coming up 1 play short of going to the SB, and after the year he had just had was understandable, they obviously felt they would be NFC contenders and have another shot at the SB.

Kolb is a longterm insurance. Vick doesn't have many more years, especially when teams will figure him out in that system, as they always do with QB's unless that QB is legit. Vick is considered a backup who came in and had success. No guarantee he does it again.

Kolb isn't longterm anything. The Eagles have openly said they want to deal him.

So why give up a lot for him if you can get him for free 1 year later?
