Jim Harbaugh at Dalton's pro day adds a pinch of credence to the thought that the 49ers are aiming for a 2nd-Rd QB

I still see Dalton being available in the 3rd. When is Nevada's pro day? I wonder if Harbs will go see Kaepernick.

That is who I think will be a 49er QB!

I hope so too. I like both Dalton and Kaep, but Kaep's got major potential.

Dangerous word heading into the NFL. I am not a fan of Kaepernick but then again I would not sulk if we got him.

To me, he's Cam Newton with a better arm and a squeaky clean image. I'd take that.

He does not really do anything in this video as a QB that impresses me. I dont care for him as a future QB to lead our team. Hell I think Alex is a better option than Kaepernick at this point. We need to look at QB's who have the potential (dangerous word) to run the WCO. This guy is really raw like Cam. He has spunk but its not what I am looking at to lead the team coming out of a 8 season playoff drought. Not to sound as a hater but neither Cam or Colin is the man to lead this team IMO.

To each his own, I guess. Whatever QB we happen to select in the draft, they won't be ready to step on the field right away regardless. Kaep has a strong arm and is surprisingly accurate. Once he gets his mechanics and footwork straightened out, he could be a dangerous weapon, IMO. He's also been regularly attending the Manning football camp and has gotten plenty of praise from both Peyton and Eli Manning.

...and you know this how? Baalke was at the pro-day, and if I remember correctly - he has the final say.

I can assure you if Jim says no Baalke will listen and be a wise man. Jim is the one who has to break him in not Trent.

Cam's got a good throwing motion. Kaep does not. It's long and slow.

So Auburn wins the NC with Kaepernick last year?

What makes you think he is going to study a playbook like he is suppose to when he has to steal another students paper and put his name on it! Then when he gets caught and gets another chance, the big dummy buys a pre written paper online "most likely from a stolen laptop" and turns it in! Then the fool goes to the combine and looked like they don't do the same passing drill every year! In conclusion he is an Athleticly gifted Lazy, cheating thief, with no common sense who can't learn from his mistakes. I would hate to have this guy on our team!

Maybe he knows he's going to get a lot of money in the NFL and doesn't need to do actual schoolwork? Just because he doesn't have interest in academics doesn't mean he doesn't have interest in football and wouldn't work hard at something he's interested in.

He is interested in money not hard work! It's unfortunate that his position that he is trying to play requires hard work mentally and physically. Physically he got that gift from god, mentally he got that also, but he wasted it! The school work is just an example, theres just people out their that would just rather take the easy way out! Take Locker for example, I can't stand him! but I don't mind having him on our team.

How exactly do you know this? Do you have access to Cam Newton's brain?

That's how the structure is in most teams head-quarters. If GM is the one calling the shots - he considers coach's opinion strongly, but makes the decision himself.

Also, how do we know that Harbaugh doesn't like Newton?

when hired harbrough was given "special power" im sure that includes the decision on first round pick of draft

we are not paying our coach 5 mil a year and not have him build the team in his way

baalke will not have the final say on draft day

Possibly. We'll never know.

Look, I don't want to get into what ppl "think" - Unless you have a statement from the owner, the GM, or the coach himself that he has the power, you're making pure assumptions. Baalke has said that he has the final call on draft day, in FA, in releasing and re-signing the players. He will consent with Harbaugh, but will have the final say over all those decisions.

This is not debatable at this moment.

Where are you guys gettin' this info? Just curious? Secondly, was Trent the GM during the 2010 draft? I don't think so. If Yorks wanted Harbaugh to make these decisions, they would have given him this power.
