Why couldn't Martz do with us what he's doing with the Bears?

Chile please.
Cutler is overrated
He didn't convert that easy 4th down, he threw some ugly picks , got lucky on the pick that got called for roughing the passer, and Hester with the punt return saved the day for the Bears. Not to mention that Urlacher forced fumble.

Cutler has been lucky because some interceptions were called back last night because of penalties. Martz could not do it here because he did not have a talented qb on the roster to work with. O'Sullivan turned the ball over too much for Singletary's liking and I think Singletary wanted Alex Smith in the lineup mainly because the fans wanted Smith in the lineup. I mean if it were just based on football Smith would not be in the lineup as the starter.

Cutler is playing off the charts, and so is the team. The big difference I think is Martz, and how he's been able to have Cutler playing to his full potential (before last night's game, he was the highest rated passer in the NFL, I assume that is still true now).
So why wasn't Martz able to do that here, with Smith, Hill, and O'Sullivan? Our team is otherwise as talented as the Bears....

Has Cutler ever had a winning record?
He had like 20 interceptions last year and is a known choke artist.
Hell even the 49ers beat him up pretty good and proper.

Simple: We had one of the worst o-line coaches Greg Foerster (after another bad one Warhop) and had Jerry Sullivan WR coach (and we still do).

If that pick he threw counted, the ripple effect on the space time continueum would morph this thread into an Aaron Rodgers dic*riding thread.

too many people do the following...I am not accusing you of anything...just stating what I notice lots of posters do. When it fits; the QB rating is the most telling factor, when it fits the team record is the most telling factor. Back and forth, back and forth.
Personally, I put his w-l record more on the fact than neither the Broncos or these Bears were very good...but thats just me....
I will not consider him an elite QB while he has this losing record and no playoff wins. But he is well on his way to changing that.
