I'm sure he'll get around banning all forms of kicking from the game. Increased scoring. A lot of 4th down action. Makes sense.

Why not just create a different helmet. One that has a hard layer sandwiched between two soft layers to absorb the impact?
Even a half inch soft exterior layer over that hard layer would make a huge difference.
Ever since I was little, I never understood how hard helmets colliding helped protect a man. There's no crumple give which means it's an immediate stop at impact.

It would be more like Rugby... would you keep the rest of the pads... or maybe just make them smaller?
