The Packers begged him not to retire several times last offseason and he told them his decision was final. The GM and coach even flew to his home and promised to do whatever it takes to convince him to keep playing. Farve kept saying no to their requests. The Packers finally moved on and named Rogers the starter as well as drafting a qb for depth. Farve decides later that he wants his job back and by then it was too late.
The packers did nothing wrong.

He knew he was going to play. He just retired to get out of New York and then drug it out so he could miss training camp.
