2026 Team Visits Draft Projection

All these visits are nothing new. They do it every year. I don't know how much they actually learn during these visits but every team does them. Some people are much better at interviews than they are at working. But you know the old saying. One man's garbage is another man's treasure.

UDFA is important. I have a clear vision of the 49ers needing one reception and Malik Turner dropping the ball. You gotta have guys that you can bring up for a game or two and make a play.

Between 25% and 30% of players in the NFL are UDFAs. I was surprised when I saw that stat.

Wow, I had no idea it was that many and looked into it. It has been this way since the 70's. Around 10% of starters are UDFA. Interesting.

I'm sure that number increased after the league expanded. More teams meant fewer picks for each team and a thinner talent pool. Eight tems had less than half their draft picks still on the team after 3 years. That includes players that are injured . As we know some of them end up getting released because they never get healthy.

Being GM in the NFL is a lot harder than many fans realize. I'm sure they get just as disappointed as the fans when players don't pan out since they put so much into trying to build a team.

Off the top of my head, Jake Brendel is the only recent starter that was UDFA, correct?

I'll take him with one of our 4ths.

Or Max Llewellyn at EDGE in the 4th.

I like both.

Or just draft Cassius Howell or Malachi Lawrence at #58 (prefer Cassius just from watching the youtube highlights of both)

I wouldn't mind one of the 4th round picks on Zxavian Harris. He's huge.

I agree. Before Osa signing I was wanting a 3 tech, but now a versatile alignment type is ideal. You would think this dude would be a stiff NT, but he was lining up as a 5 tech. I think he can play 0-4 in a NFL 4-3. Excited for his pro day to get some movement numbers. He, Collins, and Mykel is so much length and wingspan to deal with. I like that he had 6 FG blocks as well.

There's the 27th pick.
Update made to the initial post (added Cooper, Height and a couple of others)

I'd draft Harkey late 5th thru 7th rd.
He's got good power. Doesn't have lead feet.
We can work with his talent.
