You're making the pick at #27, who do you take?

Proctor has so many technical deficiencies and I dont trust him to keep his weight in check. Draft him on day 2 to play guard? Id take that gamble. But pick 27? No thanks.

I didn't think he would even make it to 27, you think he makes it to round 2 or 3 ?

i think he is saying he would only consider him if he was in R2 or R3. I think he owuld be a good G but he does have too much limitation as a OT especially in our scheme.

I did understand what he was saying. My opinion was he be gone by pick 27, but wanted to know his opinion on when, he thinks, he'll be selected. He seems to put a lot of work in on evaluating these college players.
Also, do we really know what 'our scheme' will be going forward?

Caleb Downs may drop a bit ....

Just an FYI, a degenerative ACL is where the ligament gets too thick and painful. It can usually be fixed by just cleaning out the diseased tissue and you don't always need a full replacement graft like you do with a tear. Also, this is different from what Todd Gurley had so this isnt something that may necessarily lead to a short career

If he drops to the 20's (he won't) I wouldn't hesitate trading up for him

I like McDonald or Iheanachor IF Cooper Jr is gone.

Yes, I'd take him over those guys because his ceiling is much higher than either of those guys at a premium position. Don't get me wrong--I REALLY like KC and Cooper. It's not a knock of them. But Iheanachor is an ascending prospect who started football late and is already this good. Couple that with size and athletic traits, and he has the potential to be special. This is one of those rare offensive lineman that can play in any scheme with athleticism, size and strength.

He reminds me of a young Jason Peters.

Can we get him in there year 1 at LG?

I'd hope we could get Cooper Jr at 27 and then trade up for Iheanachor in the 40-45 range as he could fall to that region and Cooper Jr has zero chance in hell of falling past 40. Cooper Jr is BPA over Iheanachor imo.

27. Cooper Jr WR
40-45. Iheanachor OT

Would be a great way to start the draft.

Think Herosim said Iheanachor could play LG initially until Trent retires. That would be a huge bonus and add more value to picking him as can go with other positions other than G with our other picks.

I am trading back to the second and getting a 3rd as well to get 2 WRs, LT and LG with those picks. There will be second round WRs better than first round WRs.

That would be nice. The hope is a team wanting to trade into the back half of the first for a QB; otherwise, I don't see much interest from teams who would want to trade
Next week will determine how many top 4rd picks the 49ers will have. All kinds of rumors are swirling. Hopefully they move on from Williams and send him home to Houston. Mac Jones could also be gone. Read that the asking price for Brian Thomas Jr has dropped. Hoping JL will jump on some of these trades instead of wasting picks.
Sadiq put himself off the radar at 27, so any of the following sound good:
Cooper
Concepcion
K. McDonald
Lomu
Freeling
Pregnon

That said, they'll probably reach for a saftey.

I think this discussion proves we have more holes than picks.

That's why we should be open to drafting whomever is BPA. I've always been a BPA at a premium position in RD1 BUT we're drafting late and could infuse good talent everywhere. We can't afford to be drafting meh talent just to fill a hole.

I agree. If they are going to be stubborn, at least let it be for o-line and d-line.

I know it doesn't mean much but I think it's kind of funny that PFF mock draft simulator player rankings had Malachi Lawrence available at like 171 and then he went through his combine drills and now he's sometimes off the board before our 2nd rounder.

Meanwhile Sadiq puts up results better than some WRs and they still have him available almost every run at 27.

It's why I use the profootballnetwork.com/mock draft mock simulator as I like it a lot better than PFF.

Would be super ok with a trade down to 35-40 and selecting Lawrence or Pregnon.

same, pff weird. PFN is fun.

I would love to see Lynch do a bunch of swapping around as this draft is deep from later round 1 on in many areas. Pick up some 2027 picks, but they've never really done that.
