I don't know if there is a thread specific to talk about draft strategy or if this thread is the thread for it. But this draft I would love to see the niners do almost the exact opposite of last year. Heavy on offense and for defense a safety and little else. I think if our defense didn't have the injuries they suffered this season it would be solid with the add off a FS with some instinct and range. The offense on the other hand is in need of updates at every position at oline, TE, WR1. RB is a maybe for me. I'm interested on how James looks next year and what the deal with Guerindo is.
any thoughts?
I hate to say it but we really need another EDGE and we need a pass rushing DT….I "like" Collins but it made no sense to take him and West. Collins was a complete projection as a pass rusher and overall it was pretty meh from that point of view…Neither guy is gonna be a straight up interior rusher like we need.
hopefully some stuff can be taken care off via FA. Also imo this isn't the draft to be drafting OTs high.
I don't disagree that we could better help on the dline. But I think if healthy the line looks a lot better than this season. My bigger concern is with the offense next season. Won't have Kittle for most of the season he's getting older and coming off a torn Achilles he is a question mark for me. WR is questionable with an often hurt Pearsall, could lose JJ and basically no one else. RB is a question with how we ran CMC this season and the depth behind him is questionable. Everyone on the oline seams replaceable other than TW, who we need to find his replacement soon. I want offensive upgrades/depth
