On this topic--hate to circle back to Reuben Foster, but a lot of people on here tried to downplay or flat out deny the the reports that arose of character concerns for Reuben. Just because you're a fan of college team doesn't mean you're plugged into who these players are as people.

I vividly remember a very prominent poster on here defending Reuben Foster because he was Alabama and never heard a bad thing about Reuben. Meanwhile, I deduced Reuben was a scumbag by simply scrolling through his Instagram.

Yeah I mean I think we all loved the talent with Foster but it was hard to ignore that he wasn't a dumbass considering of all the stuff reported and the fact that he managed to get kicked out of the combine…

What off the field concerns? I've heard nothing of this, but Nolen is from Memphis, even though he doesn't claim it. I swear, between this guy and Pearce, I am suddenly hearing about all of these "concerns" that weren't there when they were being recruited, or playing for their college teams. I followed both guys recruitment as a Vols fan, was bummed they lost out on Nolen, but stoked they landed Pearce. I'm telling you guys, our local sports news media would have been all over either one of them if that were the actual case. If there had been "concerns" with two highly recruited guys like those two, I would've read about them before a month before the NFL draft they are both going high in. Seems fishy.

I'm not so much of a fan that I'd want a cancer on the team. I hated the Foster pick, he was in the sports talk around here for acting a fool as far back as his freshman year. He was an idiot, and there was plenty of evidence of it available to the public. All I can even find about Pearce's concerns are rumors that he has some, all withing the last month by an, "unnamed AFC source". Lol
This kid is going to be the pick at #11, unless someone surprise grabs him before us. It seems like we're doing a deep dive on Nolen because he's damn near the perfect fit at 3T for Saleh's defense

Nah I think the 9ers will look to trade down then draft Nolen or Harmon. I'm still holding out hope that they're gonna bring him in for a visit.

I have a bad feeling about Nolen. Just his demeanor and the way he talks in interviews; I don't know it could be the talk of his character clouding my mind. But I'm very weary on the guy. Personally I wouldn't draft him unless he's there for our 2nd

IMO I think they're high on Harmon

Other than Stanfords pro day which is a short trip, Oregon's pro day has had by far the most 49er representation there. I think that's already a clear indicator that they could like Harmon a lot (among some of the other Oregon players).

Oregon is also a very short trip. Just a one hour flight. No need to stay overnight.

I'd rather have Nolan than Harmon. I'm not sure about Harmon, he reminds me of Hargrave; excellent pass rush, poor run stop. Personally, after watching the Oregon Ohio State playoff game, I'd just rather stay away from any Oregon player. just a hunch.

But I agree, I think the team, and especially Saleh, really like Harmon, and that he might be the pick

I can understanfd concerns about character but we've seen guys with no issues come in and be a pain in the ass. We had the bipolar personality of Haley. We saw Aldon Smith fell apart with alcohol issues. There have been others that had enough issues that they were eventually traded or released.

There are players that have issues in college and then never have any problems in the pros. Others continue to be bad actors even after they get drafted.

The point is you never really know how a young person will adjust once they get drafted and start earning big money. It's always a risk but sometimes it's a chance you have to take. The personal interviews can help but even then you can't be sure.

I honestly think Burch is destined to be a 9er. If I had one to choose one player that I had to put money on being a 9er it would be Burch.

If Nolan really has character issues I cannot see him being the pick at 11. Not after the Foster debacle. Lynch admitted they've learned their lessons regarding character flags and health flags.

Talent wise Nolan is fantastic and if he were there at 43 its way more worth the risk. I have seen him mocked all over the place its wild.

Aldon Smith had character red flags coming out of the draft. Baalke ignored them because he never gave a f**k about that s**t.

But a good example is Bowman. He had character concerns coming out too and turned out great. You just never know with these guys.

I remember reading it was well known he had a partying/drinking problem in league circles.
The best ability is availability. If he ain't running around acting a fool, more than likely he'll be on the field.
