Tyler Warren - TE/Offensive Weapon

TE2 and FB in 2025
WANT.

Good chance he is going to be BPA at #11. Have to take him over the 3rd best T or DL. Reaching for need is bad - will get Kinlaw and McGlinchey vibes if we reach for the trenches just because they are the trenches. BPA all the way.

Or get super aggressive and trade a 2026 1st to trade up to #5 for Carter if he falls to that spot.

This 💯. This team need talent at literally evey position, just take the best player available and let them compete.

This. Gotta go BPA at #11 (whomever that is) and not reach for a need. Or, trade back a little. Just don't reach for need. If a guy like Carter or Graham somehow falls to around #7, maybe trade up to get him.
in almost every mock I have seen Warren is not even the first TE taken, It's the kid from Michigan Colston Loveland.
I haven't even looked into the tight ends, so I have no idea which is a better prospect but I suspect with Penn State's playoff run, Warren got more attention.

BPA for sure. If need and BPA align...
Holy cow! What a fun player to watch. Looks like George out there. I want Kittle to play another 5-20 years in Red and Gold, and if we got this guy, I feel like we could do more 2 tight end stuff and maybe he could take Juice's spot eventually. Dude is electric with the ball in his hands.
Is he Vance McDonald 2.0?

McDonald wasn't even as productive as Warren at Rice

IMO he wont be BPA. I think a Tackle, edge, corner, and even Starks would be there and they make more sense for us.

No thanks. He may not even be the best TE in the class for crying out loud people.

One thing I know is he's not beating out Kittle for TE1 so using the 11th pick in the draft when you have clear needs on the trenches on TE2 who may see the field less than 40% of the time and get even less targets is simply terrible drafting.

Yes reaching for need is bad...so is wasting premium picks your team doesn't get often on positions that won't see the field most of the time.

If anything the smart move would be to trade down. There is going to be a group of DL which should be great selections for us or we can stand pat and grab the best one at 11.

People are acting like Warren is Bowers. He's not. 1 great year of being fed isn't #11 overall BPA pick.
Would he help the OL by running more 2 TE formations and improve our red zone efficiency?
At pick 11? No thanks

This. We will have a lot of options at 11. I can't see TE in the top 5 of moves to make with our first round pick.

I like him a lot as a player but unless Kyle is committed to running a 2TE offense, it'd be a waste of resources. You're hoping for an immediate starter and full time contributor.
