Once again, Mac Vick baby. You can't teach speed like that. Best dual-threat rookie QB in the NFL.

I still think Kyle wanted MAC. But was given Trey.

Kinda crazy because you look in pretty much all the other rookie QB threads and some posters are pretty violent about preaching how rookie QBs shouldn't even play.

Then the same ones come here and celebrate rookie QB accomplishments.

It's kinda hard to keep up.

Will clear it up for you real quick: a # of us simply didn't want him in exchange for 3 1st round picks. We would've rather swing for the fences and possibly miss than to have McCorkle as a #3 pick.

A # of other teams skipped on this kid you've pegged as a future HOFer as well,...so we weren't alone. If you have to question it any more, you're trying your hardest to not get it at that point.

This. Wasn't my preferred choice but who knew Aiyuk was gonna suck, they would waste a second round pick on Banks, waste a third round and additonal picks on Sermon, Kinlaw would not contribute an may be a bust, and Verrett would get hurt. 49ers are miles away from the Rams and Cards, they can compete with the Seahawks without Wilson. It's painfully obvious how much we are going to miss those first rounders.

Mac during that streak: 8 TDs, 7 turnovers, 262 ypg

Those other QBs during those 5 game streaks:

Dak: 12 TDs, 4 turnovers, 251 ypg
DeShaun: 19 TDs, 7 turnovers, 294 ypg
Herbert: 12 TDs, 4 turnovers, 308 ypg

I thought Dak had 16 tds that rookie year? Maybe he played more then 5 games and i am just miss remembering.

either way, Jones is on that list, he is clearly the low man on that list. There is no argument about dominance as it stands, this is clearly a " yes, but" stat. Jones could easily have another 5 game run his rookie season that beats this run, but what we have is what we have.

Seems unlikely. They only have two games left vs 1 win teams.

Mac is 9th in yards (1,800) and they are top 10 in points. It just means he gets them there and they run it in a lot of the times. That's an odd box stat to pivot to. You should stick to air yards.
When the ship is going down Shanahan will come out that he wanted Mack.

Even if Mack

Hollywood afterwards needs to hire him and make him a lead actor in movies. Because that was some Oscar type stuff the way he talked about Lance days following the trade.

It really is incredible that people actually thought we were gonna use 3 1st round picks on Mac Jones.

Whats as incredible is people thinking spending 3 first round picks on a 3 year project with high bust potential was a good idea.

If you're ok throwing away the season go ahead and play them. What's the 5 rookies starting record right now? Just guessing but it's likely like 7-14. Jags, Jets, Bears. Mac has a whopping 3 wins.

Once Jimmy craps the bed and we're done I agree with playing Lance and we're close to that point but teams play the vet because it gives them a better chance to win. You play the rook when you're just developing him and the season means sh anyways.

I don't think any of these rookies should be starting. Look how bad Fields and Wilson are getting merced out there. That said, the Patriots and Jets both backed themselves into a corner with no veteran alternatives and in that situation, Jones has done damn well for himself in how he runs that offense.
