Weird how so many fans got attached to a player that was never a niner and track his progression closely.

Not really, it's weird that fans of teams hate all players that aren't on their team. Nothing wrong with appreciating talent.

Agreed
Nothing against Lance, especially since he's here now. But Fields had the most natural blend of God given talent, attitude, intangibles, and readiness of anyone we could have taken in the draft. Maybe any QB period in the draft.
But if Lance works out than it won't matter much.
Well, check out the equivalent storyline (Maiocco) from Lance's first practice.
Why bother?
We know from one rookie practice session, and the reflections of a hometown reporter wearing rose colored lenses, that the Niners screwed this one up!
Again!

This. Nothing worse than fans who can't enjoy football and think their team is the greatest every year.

I thought the sarcasm was pretty obvious

I actually think fantasy football has changed this line of thinking. Maybe you don't root for another team to win but you definitely root for a specific player on other teams to succeed lol

This. Jamal Lewis and Sean Taylor were two of my favorite non-49ers.

I will definitely be following Fields mainly because, if we account for college career only, he was my top rated QB in 2021 in terms of the combination of accomplishments and physical ability. Landing on the Bears was a very good spot for him since it will be a KC-Type offense and all the weapons are already there.
In terms of being surrounded by talent and coaching, Fields and Lance are in the best position to succeed and get their potential get tapped.

You are giving Nagy a lot of credit which I'm not sure is warranted anymore. It's very possible fields has the most turbulent situation going forward due to an early coaching change.

Nagy: 28-20, 2 postseason appearances with Bears.
Shanahan: 29-35, 1 postseason appearance with 49ers.

1. How many postseason wins for each?
2. How many games did Nagy's preferred starting QB(s) miss in those seasons?
p.s.
nagy is a junk HC and won't have a job as the bears HC this time next year

I'm just saying. If Nagy is trash, Kyle ain't far behind. You guys worship him, but aside from being an "offensive genius", he's proven to be a horrible 2nd half adjuster, poor at evaluating quarterbacks and he coaches scared. Not to mention recruiting oft injured players.
I like Kyle, but he's far from untouchable and on par with Nagy, IMO.

lol
John Lynch on @CollinsworthPFF Podcast said that Kyle Shanahan was drawing up plays with Trey Lance in mind on his iPad on the plane ride home from Justin Fields' Pro Day.
