2021 WR Prospects - Way Too Early

Draft time is one of my favorite times of the year and now since we all are going through withdrawal, we might as well get started on next year. I think at this same time next year, Pettis, James Jr., and Taylor will be gone. Deebo, Aiyuk, Hurd, Bourne (Maybe depending on performance/Signed 1 year tender), Jennings will be the WR core moving forward leaving one (1), maybe two (2)WR position open for us to fill. With that being said, my pick and favorite WR even over all the 2020 WRs is Ja'Marr Chase. He has the "IT" factor and is the best all around WR from what I have seen. If he declares for the draft I hope the Niners find a way to draft him. I think he would complete our WR core moving forward.

Who would would you would your choice be? Do you think the Niners make an effort in drafting another WR?

Chris Olave from Ohio State will be nice if he comes out. He is a little slender, but he is ultra-smooth and one of the most natural pass catchers I have seen. Athleticism won't "wow" you, but he makes plays. Reminds me of Emmanuel Sanders, with maybe a hair less speed.
I think if we have to draft a receiver next year, that is either really good news or really, really, bad news.

I say that it is really good news is because it means guys like Trent Taylor and Kendrick Bourne have performed so well, that we cannot pay what they are worth considering neither are starters. It will be really, really bad because it means with all of the draft capital invested in the receiver position, we do not have a minimum of 4 dependable guys under contract for 2021.

I honestly hope we can ignore the receiver position all together next year. Far too many draft picks. Between everyone on the roster, we should have 4 reliable guys going into 2021 under contract. If anything, I can see us taking a flyer on someone in the 6th or 7th round or even an UDFA. But I hope we are good enough to bypass the position. We also have a pretty diverse group of skillsets. The only thing I can see being added is someone with sub 4.4 speed, assuming we get what we need out of the current group of guys.

Excellent football player. Can run every route, his athleticism is better than you think, he's just not a "freak". He reminds me of a better Doug Baldwin, which is one helluva compliment. He will have a HUGE year being Fields' number one target and I'm sure he will run extremely well at the combine as most Buckeye prospects do.

Also a great special teams player.
Someone else who is not on the list is Terrance Marshall Jr. from LSU. Im not sure if he is eligible to come out next year, I believe he is, is another player I would keep my eye on. LSU got WRs
Seth Williams

Rashod Bateman.

I think 2021 class is stronger than this year's. I am hoping we are not in any way, shape, or form needing of a WR, but Amon-ra St. Brown gets my vote for best receiver at a spot in which we would be able to take him, since we won't be picking in the top half of any round (hopefully).
Everyone wanted Ruggs this year... I just thought more and more about getting Tutu next year. Seems like a much better fit in our offense tbh.

I agree, after looking at some video of some of the prospects for next year, I think 2021 will definitely be equal or better to this pass year.

So far, after quick review of highlights, some player comps are:

Chase - Reminds me of Hopkins with a little more speed.

Seth Williams - Reminds me of Andre Johnson, measurables are there but we will see.

Waddle - Reminds me of Ruggs/T. Hill

Ross - Reminds me of AJ Green

What player comps do you guys have for other WRs?

Probably will change when I look at more highlights....

I won´t lie, I love drafting WRs in the early rounds.
I could enjoy drafting a WR in the first or the second round every year.
In fact I would love that Kyle and John draft a Pass Rusher/WR combo in the first two rounds every draft.
Who's the best YAC receiver?

My initial favorite in another loaded WR class.

he's "much" smaller though. Ruggs got some meat on him already, and he's 5'11. Tutu is listed at 5'9, and i doubt he's even that.
