Good find and comparison.
Like Banogu, I think he was 97% SPARQ score. He was a late round gem before the combine but he seems solidly in the mid rounds now

Best Edge Rusher we could get at pick #36

Ngakoue's tape was much better IMO and I couldn't understand why his draft stock seemed so low that draft. He ended up going with the 6th pick in the 3rd round though...so it's not like he was a mid rounder. We picked Will Redmon the pick prior

No one even remotely close to being as talented as anyone in the top 10. That's why this pick will either be a WR or safety because those positions have prospects available at #36 who aren't much different than the top prospects.

It's already been proven the kid's got a 10 cent head and wasn't prepared for the biggest job interview of his life. Why would you invest this high of a pick on a guy who didn't pass the test in the first place? Don't get it.

Exactly...yes, let's hire the guy who farted in the conference room during his interview.

I still want Winovich. I think he's got all the intangibles, the skillset and answered questions about his athleticism at the Combine. I think he can have a nice career as a secondary edge rusher, a solid 6-9 sack a year guy and reliable run stopper.
I think Banogu is pretty limited as a pass rusher but as others have mentioned, would be an interesting choice to play SAM later on in the draft.
Top 3 10 yard splits for DL
— Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) March 3, 2019
1) Ben Banogu 1.47
2) Montez Sweat 1.50
t 3) Nick Bosa 1.55
t 3) Chase Winovich 1.55

I'm a huge CW fan and would have no problem with him. I just see so many similarities in Ngakoue's predraft numbers/pre-draft profile and Banogu's. If I recall, YG was considered a 3rd-day pick as well and was considered more of a sub-package guy who didn't get much love as an every-down edge rusher. We'll see of course, but wherever Banogu goes, I think he'll end up as a huge value pick as an every down EDGE guy.

He looks more like a typical super athletic edge stat-padding in college but I don't see much nuance to his pass rush approach and his bend is really subpar. Just my view. I think he'd be perfect at SAM with his great athleticism. He could be a monster as a blitzer.
I saw too much stuff like this from him where he would just get completely walled.
Banogu vs Scharping. Really good rep by Scharping, pretty decent quickness out of his stance, great hand placement getting the left hand under the armpit, displays knee bend to anchor and has no problem mirroring. pic.twitter.com/JQ3QCG6jLU

A reportedly immature kid who does not take criticism well. Sounds like a guy who would be a potential problem for coaches and teammates alike.

I saw all Omenihu's came as a Longhorn and he had a fine yr. Love to have him but have seen him as high as 15-16 on some boards, and 20-25 on others. I don't think he is there at 36, let alone 25 . And no, he is not a Nick Bosa. But he is a very fine ER. Nowhere near as disruptive, but solid..
Then again, MadDog has him at 55...so ...maybe he will be there at 36
