Love the "but he's 27!" critiques... like it matters for a punter.

Why can't he have a 10-15 year career? He's 27, not 34. Punters regularly play into their mid to late 30s. Sean Landeta played until he was 43.

K

If this guy isn't punting in the NFL at 37, it would be a result of performance issues, not the ravages of old age and years of beatings.

It means his production in college is probably his ceiling because he's in the midst of his prime and not some young talent.

That would be awesome! Elite production!
He has a monster leg.

He could still be punting at age 43 like Jeff Feagles.

He's 27. Lol

So you don't understand the punting potion is what you are saying.

I've actually been a Pinion supporter, but not sure he's worth a second contract. With Braden "Manfred" Mann not coming out this year, I like this guy as an option in the later rounds/UDFA.

Also, he needs to be here in the land of Pixar!

And by "later rounds/UDFA" you meant the 110th overall pick, right?

UDFA? Punter, after all

This. No more wasting a freaking 5th round pick on a punter, I wouldn't anyways

.

My guess is he probably has a better chance to last 5 years or more than any player we picked. He doesn't have to learn a new scheme and he doesn't have to face guys that are bigger, stronger and faster. If you can punt in college you can punt in the NFL. You don't need to re-learn anything.

He is a fourth round pick. How many 4th round picks are almost guaranteed to make the roster and be on the team for 4 years. This punter is. He is one of the best punters to go in the draft and seeing that 3 other specialists also got drafted in rounds 5 and 6 he no doubt would not have been on the draft board when the niners picked later on.

Right? A bit surprised, but NE did snag Bailey one round later, maybe the Niners didn't think Wishnowsky would be there much longer. Jed is working on licensing with Pixar as we speak I bet, more $$!

And bye to any dreams of Braden Mann next year...

In the FO presser, they said " he wouldn't been there in round 5 ". I for one have always been a big proponent of maximizing Field position....I'm ok with selection

I'm also good with it, I guess my surprise was more that either Wishnowsky or Bailey would go that high.

I mean, I AM the OP of this thread, I better be good with the pick!
