Double-hand swipe. You come at the Bosas with low hands, they're going to take your lunch all day. Hell, they'll take it with high hands, too, but their hand swipes at disgusting. DL at the NFL level struggle to pull it off as consistently as the Bosas. Their combination of timing, placement and violent, powerful hands is superb. The balance, forward lean and footwork around the arc is the cherry on top.

So you're saying Bosas are pretty much football porn.

For now.

49ers will beat the Cards, Raiders and Giants at minimum. Good chance to upset TB in their house. I don't see Bosa in our future. It would be nice but the progress Beathard has made will move the position.

The good thing is that the depth is there with numerous top pass rushing prospects.

Tards would be wise to get Rosen some help (oline / WRs), their offense desperately needs play makers.

Giants are going after Herbert (QB from Oregon). Eli was done two years ago, they need a QB worse than we need an ER.

That could leave Raiders, Bills and Browns (along with us) in the running...

I think Raiders and Bills will have a worse record than us in the end so #BabyBosa
Hypothetically, if we were the first pick, could we sign him before the draft or has that gone away.

I would not assume that at all. They really like their 4th round rookie QB.

If that's the case, you draft the QB first anyway and trade him or keep him as a valuable backup. The thought in NYG was that with Saquon, Eli could muster up enough good play to win games. But that didn't work and they'll have another high draft pick, so QB is the only choice.

Yeah, nice breakdown. I mostly agree. So, generally with the #1 pick, you think "QB". Failing that, pass rusher is generally the most obvious second choice (barring transcendental prospects at other positions, e.g. Calvin Johnson, Saquon Barkley, etc).

Here's how I look at it:

Cardinals: took Rosen this year, so no chance they go QB. However, I disagree with your assessment on ARI because to take an OL/WR, the player would have to be the same caliber of Bosa (e.g. "all things equal.... we need offensive help more, we'll go OL/WR"). To pick OL/WR over Bosa would be picking need over BPA, and I can't see them passing up Bosa to do that. I don't follow college prospects closely, but I don't know of any OL/WR in the same tier as Bosa this year.
Likelihood of drafting Bosa if given the chance: Very high

Giants: 100% agree with your assessment. The Giants need a QB. This is a lock.
Likelihood of drafting Bosa if given the chance: Remote

Raiders: a small part of me thinks they could trade Carr; Carr has been very mediocre the last year and a half, and his contract (limited dead money beyond this year) is very tradeable. They traded Mack, so why couldn't they trade Carr? Maybe Gruden wants to get "his" guy. So, it's very unlikely, but I could see them maybe going QB in that scenario. Failing that... well, like I mentioned, they just lost Khalil Mack. How's this for a redemption story: "The Oakland Raiders overcome the loss of Premier Pass Rusher Khalil Mack by adding Premier Pass Rusher Joey Bosa".
Likelihood of drafting Bosa if given the chance: A virtual guarantee

Browns: odds be damned, the Browns are too talented to finish worse than the 49ers last year. They're a very respectable team this year. They'd likely take Bosa, but they won't have the chance.

Bills: took Allen this year, so no chance they draft a QB. I basically feel exactly the same about them as I do Arizona.
Likelihood of drafting Bosa if given the chance: Very high

So yeah, I guess I'm probably haggling over minor differences, but I generally agree with you. Unless we finished with 1 or 2 wins, we're probably not getting Bosa.
We will win enough to miss out on him.

Yeah you could be right on Ari, afterall Wilks was a DC in Carolina and they need help all around (more than us)...keep in mind tho, Larry prolly gonna retire after this year and I don't know if they have enough WRs for Rosen to throw to (they have it bad as it is now).

Raiders will prolly end up with four 1st round picks after 2018. Even if they get rid of Carr, they can get Bosa, a QB and weapons on offense (they're really preparing for 2020 / move to Vegas).

Its pointless because every draft pick is now slotted a salary. It isn't like before where guys could hold out in an attempt to get more money.

It's the truth unfortunately, don't see any chance we finish 1st unless we get even more decimated with injuries. We play a Rams team that will be sitting all starters and play a handful of bottom 10 teams that we could easily beat on a good day. Think 4-12 is probably most realistic

I guess only advantage is if you lock in on the selection you probably have more face time with that player through the draft process to prep (can have them turn down other meetings/workouts to focus on what you want) and also de-risk them hurting themselves in stupid team workouts which happens every year. Imagine if we had 1st pick and Bosa had some career altering injury working out for some team drafting at like 15.

As long as there's a top 5 worthy qb in the draft it would be dumb to lock in on Bosa at #1 until we're on the clock given we have no idea what someone like the Giants may mortgage to move up 1-2 spots (and we could still get Bosa).

Well there still is some negotiating like offset language or penalties like Roquan Smith.

Fun fact, Joey held out just like his dad. So I wouldn't expect Nick to be a simple easy signing.
