So as it sits today, if we tie with the Browns we get the #1 pick due to weaker SoS, theirs being a .550 and ours being .510.

As for draft position, i see the 49ers to not win more than 2/5.
So if we end up with 3 wins this is our competition: (all other teams have 4 or more W already)
Browns: 0 Wins; RestOfSchedule: Chargers (A), Packers (H), Ravens(H), Bears(A), Steelers(A). 3 winable games
49ers: 1 Win; RestOfSchedule: Bears (A), Texans (A), Titans(H), Jaguars(H), Rams(A). 2 winable games
Giants: 2 Wins; RestOfSchedule: Raiders (A), Cowboys (H), Eagles (H), Cardinals(A), Redskins(H). 1 winable game
Bears: 3 Wins; RestOfSchedule: 49ers (H), Bengals(A), Lions (A), Browns(H), Vikings(A). 4 winable games
Colts: 3 Wins; RestOfSchedule: Jaguars (A), Bills(A), Broncos (H), Ravens(A), Texans(H). 2 winable games
Broncos: 3 Wins; RestOfSchedule: Dolphins (A), Jets(H), Colts (A), Redskins(A), Chiefs (H). 4 winable games
Conclusion: its hard to see us fall out of the top 3 and will have tons of trade leverage (Rosen,Darnold, Barkley).
I can see us very well overtake the giants.
So my best guess at this point of the season is we will draft at #3.

Even though Chicago and Houston are not good, those are not winnable games for a bad team like San Francisco.

So Giants are only staying at 2 wins. Apparently in tank mode starting Geno over Eli

well those could turn into very winnable games if Garoppolo looks a little bit more than half as good as he looked at the beginning of last season.

f**k the Giants - now I'm hoping we keep Garropolo on the bench just to not let them shamelessly tank. They have way too much talent on their roster to deserve a top 2 pick.

This is what would be the worst outcome- we win 2 meaningless games against 2 teams running at half capacity (Watson/Watt/Mercilus out for Texans and Bears starting a rookie QB). If we have 2 wins I'd rather them be against meaningful opponents.

Huge drop off at pick 3 for trade leverage - assuming Darnold and Rosen declare it will be pick 1 or 2 and after that trade leverage is minimal (typical trade not QB trade chart and no top teams will trade a future 1st to move up for Barkley). Would be eerily like last draft where we had the pick where the talent drop off was massive. All because a stupid end of season win against a hapless Rams team.

This x 1000! Hopefully we find a way to lose those but if we somehow beat a full strength Rams then sure.

Getting pick #5 or 6 seems likely.

I'm fine with that. Lynch's move to get Garoppolo affords the team extra flexibility in the draft.

Yep. Of course, would prefer to have a top 3 pick for the trade down possibilities. Not sure we can recoup that high 2nd round pick now. There is some good talent in the top end of this draft, but can't imagine trading out of the top 10 -- seems to be a significant drop off after pick 10 this year.

Giants fired McApoo. Hopefully they'll win some more with an interim coach.

This team could easily win another two games, I think it's probably the most likely result. If it is 4-12, then the 49ers will have a lower draft pick than Cleveland, NY Giants and Denver guaranteed. Denver is an absolute dumpster fire, I don't think they could beat the Browns.
Indy has the tiebreaker on us with their SOS, but they also play Denver which is a guaranteed win. They also have a game against Houston who's sitting there with 4 wins -- that pick is also going to Cleveland. Tampa might not win another game, but their strength of schedule is better than ours. Chicago also has a pretty strong SOS. They still get to play Cleveland and then have possible winnable games against the Bengals and Lions. They then close the year at Minnesota who may not have anything to play for depending on what happens to Philly. I can't imagine Chicago not picking up another win or two.
Here's my prediction:
1. Cleveland 0-16;
2. Denver 3-13;
3. NY Giants 3-13 (Denver has a terrible SoS and the Giants will likely win another game with the interim coach;
4. Indy 4-12;
5. Niners 4-12;
6. Tampa 4-12;
7. Cleveland (from Houston) 5-11;
8. Chicago 5-11
