Verrett's man coverage ability is second to none in this draft IMO. I'd have him as my top CB if not for the fact that his up side is limited due to his size. 5'9 & short arms doesn't mean he won't be a great CB, but he's probably not going to be able to jam WRs on a consistent basis.

5'11 195 lbs with 31" arms. Not bad. Definately big enough to be a 3 down player and play the outsides as well as slot or zone.

He's 5'9" -- 5'11" is the school released height.

He's definitely grown on me after watching tape of him, but not sure if I'd rather have the 49ers trade up for Dennard who is also battle-tested as Verrett for man-to-man coverage off the line, or have the Niners stay at 30 and snag Verrett.

His shorter stature is worrisome, but I think his talent will negate, especially against the speedy slot receiver types like Welker, Harvin, and Austin, who he has shown capable of covering.

I guess this website is not listing the correct heights and measurements

I don't know where they are getting their info. Because I'm pulling directly from the NFL Combine page, Walterfootball, etc.

The 5'10" is what is listed on ESPN - 5'10" 176
http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/517126/jason-verrett

and NFL.com has an out of date NFL Draft profile that lists him as 5'10" and 176
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/jason-verrett?id=2543493

NFL.com's official profile lists him as 5'9" 176 w/ 30 5/8" arms

Verrett's 5'9. That was how he was measured at the combine.
You're in love with this guy and I just don't see it.

In the Texas Tech game, count how many times Verrett actually touches the WR off his break in press coverage. Notice the "in" route at 1:30 as he let's the WR run past him. At least put a hand on him, even if you're in zone. He's quick and covers like a shadow, but he isn't very big or physical (in coverage).

I like his feistiness and quicks, but I want more of a difference maker in the 1st.

They accidentally swapped the measurements for Verrett and Ward, take a look at it.

A guy who gets his hands on as many passes as Verrett, more than anyone else in college football, is by definition......."a difference maker." If he were 6 feet tall he'd be the 1st CB off the board. As it is, he'd be a steal in the late 1st round, another ballhawking cornerback for the 49ers. Put him in the slot initially and let him go out there and make plays.
4.41 on his first and second 40 with a 39" vertical.

Lots of sites saying that Verrett is the top man to man corner which I don't doubt but he only stands 5'10" and in the NFL you have bigger and faster WRs. But with the right coaching this kid could be a top 5 corner in the NFL in the future.
Official 40 time of 4.38.
