Will post my final Big 255 Board in a few hours. In the meantime, here is my last Best 50 Board, regardless of scheme and team. This is not a mock draft, nor a Niners mock draft, or Niners wish list. This is my final draft grade, how I rate the best players in this draft. It will include surprises, and I will be happy to give reasons for some of these quirky placements. Have fun, and get your seatbelts strapped on for a great weekend.
Cheers.

How did Cooper surpass Floyd? You were recently pounding the table pretty hard for Floyd as the clear BPA.

You formerly had Josh Evans rated higher than Phillip Thomas. What changed your mind? Do you think one of them will end up the 49ers' new FS? Are you confident ranking them higher than Swearinger?

You weren't kidding about the surprises.... there are tons here. You clearly are ignoring positional value and medical issues and just basing this off of overall quality of player.
For example, there is no way Cooper is picked before Fisher because OT is more important to a teams success in today's NFL than OG. But if you are just considering a players combination of size, athletecism, technique, and skill then I can see a case being made for Cooper.
Same thing goes for Eifert at 8, Carradine at 10, and Cyprien at 17. No way these guys get picked at those spots in the draft! But I understand your ranking on this basis of evaluation.

Marquise Goodwin is a top 50 player? No Cordarelle patterson?

This list is of the best 50 players, well MD's take on the 50 best players.
It is not an list of the draft order or where people will be picked.

Cordarelle Patterson will be picked early, but being picked early and being one of the best players in the draft are not always the same thing.
I am not sure I would include Ziggy Ansah in the top 50.
In my estimation, both Ansah and Patterson did not have enough college production to be considered top players in this draft.
Potential they do have, but until that potential is realized.........it remains potential only.

The reports now are that Fisher is going to be the first pick over Joeckel. Not that big of a surprise.

When you're going to penalize a prospect for lack of production in making your rankings, it simply comes down to how likely you think they are to fulfill that potential. It seems MadDog has seen something on tape or has reasons to think that both Ansah and Patterson will be busts. If he was convinced that they would reach their potential, I assume he would rank them much higher despite their lack of production.

Yeah, I was just re-watching the senior bowl practices (OL vs DL) to watch some of my favorite DE prospects (Datone Jones and Alex Okafor) and they all looked like amateurs against Fisher. Jones and Okafor schooled every other OL they matched up against in those practices, but Fisher was unbeatable.
Very impressive.

Wow, lots of surprises here. It reminds me of Dane Brugler's final Top 100, which is also full of former 2nd and 3rd rounders rising and an amazing number of former first and early second rounders falling. I can't remember another draft where there was such a large scale flip flop just before the draft began.
Here is a link for Brugler's Top 100:

Can't wait to see how this draft shakes out!

I love Jonathan Cooper at #1. Early in the process I was hoping he would slip as an eventual replacement for Goodwin, but we all know that isn't happening now.
Also good to see one of my favorites Stedman Bailey has cracked your 50 best!
