to reach in the 2013 draft. DT,DE,OLB,both safety spots,CB,WR,TE are spots that at least need depth if not an upgrade. He has absolutely no reason to pull a AJ Jenkins first round move. Jenkins may well help us this coming season but a reach like that and I'll lose my mind.

Kind of a blank statement since most here though Aldon Smith was a reach and the 9ers overreacted when Dalton was selected by trading up for Kaep.

Lottofdefense, You're talking apples and oranges. Aldon smith was considered a top 15 pick in the draft. CK was considered a 2nd round pick and a player on the rise. Show me 1 mock draft with AJ Jenkins in the first round or to be considered a top 30 pick. You guys can makeup things and hide your head in the sand but AJ Jenkins was a major reach at pick #30 in the draft. Every analyst was confused by the pick when it was made and Jenkins backed up the reach status with a full season of no catches.

baalke gon' baalke and that means picking someone he wants, regardless of what analysts or fans/armchair gm's and scouts say.

I don't know how much I would call the #30 pick a "major reach".

Supposedly Jenkins was gone to St. Louis the next day. It's not a reach, end of 1st round is gonna see some guys who have "2nd round grades" taken. Beside that it's stupid to write off Jenkins already. He has one season under his belt and is still very talented. Baalke has so far done an amazing job through the draft, so why make a fool of yourself by complaining about reaching?

I would like to pretend I know a TON about the draft to the point where I could give a meaningful critique of our every pick, but to be honest, I did not watch that much CFB this year and really only know who the Big 12 players are along with a few other headliners. Many of the 1-3 round projected guys are prospects that I only know about because I have read the draft gurus' scouting reports on them. This is also a reason why you won't see me doing a mock draft on here because it would be terrible (although I do have a handful of guys I would like us to take in Rounds 3-6). Therefore, anything Baalke decides to do is A-OK with me.

Ok, what about Culliver, or Miller in the 7th? Plus it'sa lot different when you picking in the top 10 and the bottom of the 1st. I was more pissed when the selected Aldon than way they selected Jenkins, but than we just watched are team got to the NFC west championship.
Give Jenkins sometime. Your same train of thought is calling Kaep a bust last year and is biatching about not trading up a few extra spots for Dalton.
Patience young grasshopper.

Analysts? U trust analysts? many of 'analysts' said 49ers would get nothing for Alex Smith just 2 weeks ago. LOL
