To resign or not to resign Delanie? That is the question

Definitely. Just thought it made sense to bring him back (if for nothing else, his blocking ability), especially since it likely won't cost a lot.

Yes! How far do you think Johnthan Banks is going to fall, if at all? His Combine numbers weren't up to par but I don't know how much of a difference it will make.
I agree with the positions that you are drafting, but I think Darius Slay is a bit high at 34.

1. Datone Jones, DE
2a. Desmond Trufant or Jordan Poyer
2b. Brandon Williams (might not be around at 3a)
3a. Da'Rick Rodgers/Justin Hunter
...

Not sure if Banks will get out of the first round even with his average showing, given how popular big CBs are these days.

I wouldn't be upset at that, but I do think Slay's size, speed and ability will have him go pretty high in April. Plus, I think Slay is more fluid than Trufant and definitely has more speed than Poyer, though all three should be solid CBs (just matter of preference, IMO). Also, our late 2nd and early 3rd aren't that far apart, so I'm not sure it matters all that much about Brandon Williams (who showed well in the weight room, but didn't blow the combine away on the field).

Trufant will likely be gone by that point and I like Slay better than Poyer even. He's a damn good cornerback in his own right, he was just overshadowed by Banks.

Could you imagine if he fell to the 49ers pick.....that would be nuts....you have Banks and Datone Jones sitting there at 31, who do you take? I still say Jones...just because I see him as most capable of potentially replacing Justin Smith down the road, but I'd have to think hard about it.

Same here; I'd take Jones then the Jags picking at #33 would likely take Banks (who seems like a perfect fit for their new defense) if he was still available. Though, if Banks was already gone, it's possible the Jags could take Slay at the top of the 2nd.

You covered a lot of ground in this draft. I like two DEs and a NT and a OLB. I also like a PR and Kicker. Only thing missing was a backup QB.
Ghost - who would you envision filling Goldson's spot under this scenario?

Knowing our 3rd string QB hasn't played a snap in two years, I'm pretty comfortable with us signing a veteran (Josh Johnson comes to mind) or even a rookie street guy.
What D-lineman would you guys take at 31 if Datone Jones is gone (Seahawks are targeting him)? Are there any pass rushing DE/DTS that are available? Wish we could trade up for Sheldon Richardson or something.

Per the free agency, I use some of Goldson's money to sign veteran free agent Louis Delmas. He's 3 years younger than Goldson and when healthy, one of the better safeties in the league. Not sure if it's an upgrade or downgrade really, but there aren't a lot of other realistic options out there. I think we make our Super Bowl run with the two veterans Delmas/Whitner this year, then revamp both roles in 2014.

Hopefully Trenton Robinson and/or Earl Wolff (who looked really good at the combine) will step up by then and be legit options at either position. I tried to cover most of the other needs though so that might be the only glaring hole on the team in 2014.
