SO... no explanation on why the 49ers traded their pick to Arizona of all teams.

Easy. So they can fail with yet another USC quarterback.

AZ gets first dibs on all the qbs that were going to make it to the second. I can think of 5 players that we would pick at 31 that would be there at AZs pick. Basicalky the same quality of player. Take advantage of the kolb factor and we could possibly walk away with a 2nd rd pick next year or package our third for their 3rd.

9moon when I first scrolled down to the 49ers pick and saw a trade to Zona I said, WHAT? Then it sunk in a bit and I think it's a good move. Quarterback hungry teams are going to be getting very antsy by the end of the first round. They may even be able to get next years #1.

I agree with this. I think 9ers want someone's 1st rounder for next year's draft in this position as long as the QB's are still there by the 31st pick.

It's reckoned there's a lot of really good defensive talent in this draft - DL and DB. Waiting until #63 before the team picks one of them is a bit difficult to get one's head around.
I can see a trade back into an early-ish second round and a 2014 draft pick (not the first though, say 2nd or 3rd). But I do admit a 2014 first would be sweet, if the team could swing one under some scenario where they have two 2nds.
On the other hand a lot will depend on what the team does in FAcy too.

Id be fine with a trade down. I know we have a lot of picks but a lot of them are late picks and we can use those to trade back up. A lot of value in the rounds 2-4.
Id switch Floyd and Warmack. Doubt Raiders would pass on Floyd. Also I think Star still goes in the first round.

I stopped reading after pick 8, making it two guards taken in the top 8.

Went through this like Chuck Norris through bad guys. MANY questionable picks. Werner at #2? Too soon. Geno Smith at #22. He'll go higher. Ertz before Eifert. Maybe its the fact that I watched Eifert more, but I came away more impressed with him than Ertz. WAY more. Te'o in the 1st round? After yesterday its not gonna happen. AND lastly, what the heck did you do with the Niners pick? Go ahead and take your Mulligan.
