Would you trade #1 pick and Willis and Davis for rights to Luck

I initially thought, "hell no". However, after looking at this further, I would say why not? We've had Patrick Willis and V-Davis for years now, and what has our record been? Simply put, you are not going to win multiple championships with a stud linebacker and an very good TE, but you will with a franchise-caliber quarterback. We'd also shed massive salary in the process.

The question is, if you were the Colts, would you? I wouldn't.

True, but look at Marino, or Peyton only winning 1, etc. A franchise QB is a huge deal, but it's a team sport. One player can't do it all. Brad Johnson won a Superbowl. So did Trent Dilfer. Rex Grossman made it to the Superbowl and so on.
Peyton has 1 ring. Elway has 2. Both #1 picks yet Montana has 4 and Brady has 3. Superstar QB's win regular season games not necessarily Super Bowls. Im not giving up arguably the best defender in football and one of the better TE's AND a #1 for an unproven QB. Especially when there are other options at QB in the same draft.
.
True, but I'd rather have Marino or Peyton over Ray Lewis or Patrick Willis.

I see that teams without legit QBs don't go anywhere. Also, when was tge last time a Luck quality QB was available?

Manning in 1998, Carson Palmer in 2003, Sam Bradford in 2010, could even say Mike Vick in 2001..... Like I have said just because he plays for Stanford doesn't make him the greatest QB ever.

Right now an even bigger NO than before.

THIS
Then again..............did anyone see Luck's one handed catch against the UCLA Bruins on Saturday? We could use him at WR if we really want to.

This.

I would also take someone who is a notch or two below (Barkley, Moore, etc...) than to trade our franchise players for a guy WHO MAY seem like the real deal. I like him and all, but it takes a whole team; from ownership to players, to win a championship-not one player.

NO.
No! too much. Walsh said, you can scheme with offense, but defense, you need the players, look how hard it is to get pass rush specialist, much less an everydown lb. TE as it has been seen can be developed, I mean I like Vernon, but if you gotta give up something then VD and our #1, but if things go right this year we won't even be close to getting him. Plus OL and WR are still major players we still need.

That's like saying Vernon and PWilly are our only good players. Not true.

Where did you see me say that? I never said that, but Willis is arguably the best middle linebacker in the league right now and Vernon is probably top 5 at his position.
f**k no. only thing i would trade for him are other picks, and maybe some players, but not our top players for an unproven rookie. I would trade them for Rodgers or Rivers, proven QBs who are still young.
Never. Why draft a QB when we got two rookies? Our O-Line would make Luck look like Alex Smith did.
