How does the 2011 #1 draft pick get signed with " no play no pay?"
No pay no sign.

He will not be signed. they have his rights so no other NFL teams can talk to or have anything to do with him. all draft pick will not be signed to a contract till there is a new CBA.

Thank you!
I think with the uncertainty of the future I'd rather use the pick now.
With a potential lockout in 2011 we need to stay away from any trades that involve picks next year.
Even if there is a lockout, there will still be a draft in 2011.

Would rather use the 2011 1st round this yr. to help now, not first see any use of that pick in 2012. You have the rights to the player, but the lock out negates any coaching, practice, learning the play book. Pretty much a wasted opportunity!

To make trades in the event that there is a possible lockout is ridiculous, you don't know if there will be or won't be. Also, players wouldn't be paid during the lockout, and most likely teams would sign players drafted in 2011 to 6-year contracts instead of 5-year in order to compensate for a lost year. In the end, it doesn't make much of a difference.

How about making the trade in the event we push for the div. title & a playoff run this yr.?
