Pretty bad mock. And how is Haden a local kid he's from Maryland?
He plays for Florida... I figured that was pretty obvious. Can you tell me which part of the mock you don't like? Keep in mind that this is a prediction of what I think WILL happen, not what I WOULD DO. I would love to defend each and every pick
That doesn't make him a local guy. a local guy would be a guy who played high school ball and college ball and is from that state. Somebody folks from the state identify with. Nobody sees him as a local guy being that he is from Maryland. Picking Mclain is just ridiculous imo with this team having more pressing needs. And nothing against Iupati but I'd much rather draft a OT than a OG in the 1st round. It just makes no sense to me.
I was trying to stick to what I think WILL happen, not what I think most people WANT to happen. Singletary stated last year that had Crabtree not fallen, the pick would be between Maualuga and Oher. McCloughan wanted Maualuga in the 2nd, and several years back contemplated taking Lofton with the 1st round pick. This all happened while Willis was on the team. Having said this, it needs to be stated that these were not half the prospects that McClain is. Also, McClain fills a huge void that neither Lofton or Maualuga could fill....he calls defenses. Singletary keeps pushing Willis into having the green dot, but this has not been his strong point. He's strong, fast, athletic, instinctive, and ferocious, but he is not the guy to call defenses. If the team was going to draft a good, not great MLB who does not call the defenses (a need) at #10 last year, why would they not draft a great ILB who does call defenses, at #13 this year, especially with Spikes being a year older/less productive than last year, and Willis making an even stronger case for not being the defensive QB that Singletary wants on the team? Please defend your position, from the standpoint of why it doesn't make sense to you that the team would do that.
