I don't know the rules so I'm asking. Since we hold the rights to Crabtree, can we trade those rights once the current season ends to a team that will pay him what he wants and get a high first round pick? If we can which teams would do it and how high a pick would we get?

Michael Crabtree can not be traded right now. He can be traded March 1st up to the draft. If the 49ers do not trade him, then he is eligible to be drafted again. If he is not traded and gets drafted by another team, the 49ers lose out on the pick they used on Crabtree and get nothing in return.
