idk, he was a freak in college.
Vernon and Brooks showed their ability in the pros (not consistently though). Thats where I think Coach Sing helped those two out.
Gholston, he really hasnt shown anything

"Ryan wants physical play from his safety"
I'd never heard that cited as a possible reason for Rhodes' release before, but if we can sign Dre Bly at CB, than I can see signing Rhodes at FS.

Strick is a solid player but he always gets hurt, some guys just can't stay healthy.

Just setting here thinking about it there roster is loaded with high priced players. Look at all those FA's and they have a high number of 1st round draft picks on there roster.

I know this trade will generate a fewand/or
Three team trade
49ers give: 16th/17th pick
49ers get: Cribbs and Rhodes
Browns give: Cribbs and a 3rd
Browns get: 16th/17th pick
Jets give: Rhodes
Jets get: Cleveland's 3rd.
I'd take the best returner in the game plus a proven starter at safety for the #16 pick.
This isn't the NBA. 3 Way Trades don't happen.

ATLANTA -- Filling their need for a No. 3 wide receiver, the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday night acquired disgruntled Denver Broncos veteran Ashley Lelie in a three-team trade.
Clayton's take
The three-team trade that sent Ashley Lelie to Atlanta, T.J. Duckett to Washington, and two draft choices to Denver late Tuesday had been one of the most difficult to put together in the past couple of years. When all was said and done, the deal made all involved happy.

The Falcons sent former first-round tailback T.J. Duckett to Washington. At worst, the Broncos will receive two draft choices from Washington -- third- and fourth-round picks -- and those picks could escalate based on a complicated formula.

Ok I also just heard this on Sirius NFL Radio.
The Falcons trade their 15th pick for the Broncos 29th and a couple of extra picks in later rounds.
The Falcons then send the 29th pick to the Jets.
The Jets then send John Abraham to the Falcons.
So I see this as a win win for everyone involved. The Falcons get a premeir pass rusher if healthy. They also get a couple of later picks.
The Broncos get the 15th pick in the draft.
And the Jets get the 29th pick which is better than the 31st pick that the Seagals were offering for a guy who wasnt going to be on their roster anyway.
Nice!

According to NFL.com, several teams were involved in the trade involving New England and Kansas City that sent QB Matt Cassel to the Chiefs in exchange for a 2009 second-round draft pick on Saturday.
Before that trade went down this morning, NFL.com reports that Detroit and Tampa Bay were involved in the trade talks. The Bucs apparently were attempting to orchestrate a three-way trade that would have sent Cassel to Denver to reunite him with former Patriots offensive coordinator and new Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels, Cutler to Tampa Bay and presumably one of the Bucs' premium draft picks to the Patriots.
While Denver evidently entertained the proposal from Tampa Bay and Detroit, which was similar in nature, the three-way trade possibility, which was considered by the Broncos, was killed when the Patriots dealt Cassel to the Chiefs.

lol ^^^^
But seriously, neither Rhodes nor Cribbs, nor both of them together is worth a first round pick.

Gholston would be an interesting reclamation project just like Ahmad Brooks.

Obviously I disagree.
People are willing to spend a 1st on Spiller who would serve mainly as a returner for the most part in the beginning.
People are willing to spend a 1st on Earl Thomas with one of our 1sts.
Getting a proven safety who statistically have been a top 5 safety for the past 3 years. 2nd, 4th and 5th. Then we would also get the best returner in the game.
2 birds with one stone.

You must have misinterpreted what I said. When I said "3 way trades don't happen," that doesnt mean "A 3 way trade has never happened in the history of the league" or "Its not possible to do a 3 way trade."
It means 'Usually, 3 way trades don't happen."
Which is correct, considering you were only able to scrap up two examples out of countless trades that have happened.

OK! well hitting on all of your draft picks Usually doesn't happen either. But you wouldn't know it by looking at comments from all the mocks you see around here.
But back to the 3 way trade thing. I know it's very unlikely we land either of those guys via trade. So I know the probabilities of getting both via a 3 team trade is almost non existent. The point is it can happen.
BTW I only searched for 2 minutes to come up with my examples. All recent examples. With one example coming less than 12 months ago with 2 different teams trying to propose their own 3 way trade.
I do agree that it's unrealistic to expect such a trade to happen. As I said in my original post. I would love to see this happen.
