With the 2021 NFL Draft officially over, the questions have moved on from who the 49ers are drafting to when these newly drafted rookies will see the field. Last weekend, the 49ers made the bold choice of QB Trey Lance with the No.3 overall pick in the draft. However, just because he was their first selection doesn't mean that he will be the one to see the most playing time out of all the 49ers' rookies. Sitting in front of him is incumbent starter, Jimmy Garoppolo, and the 49ers have made many reassuring remarks that he will remain their starting quarterback in 2021. With that in mind, let's rank the 49ers draftees based on projected playing...

When it comes to running backs, it seems like the San Fransisco 49ers can never have enough. After this weekend's eventful NFL Draft, during which the 49ers added to their crazy depth with two draftees in Trey Sermon and Elijah Mitchell, San Francisco has many players at the position who could see playing time in 2021. Last year, the primary running back group consisted of Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman, and Jerick McKinnon. However, a multitude of injuries gave opportunities to Jeff Wilson Jr. and JaMycal Hasty, who made the most of their chances, as Wilson Jr. ended the year...

Day 1 of the NFL Draft was a very exciting day for 49er fans, who were muddled in confusion over who the third pick in the draft would be. Cheers filled the air as the card read QB Trey Lance out of North Dakota State to be the future signal-caller for a franchise ready to compete now with its young roster. However, it's time to move on to the juicy part of the draft, Round 2, where we should expect more trades, more players falling, more head-scratching picks, and a lot of excitement. Round 2 After securing their quarterback, the 49ers should look at the rest of their needy positions during Round 2. There are some first-round talents still available, and it will be interesting to see who falls to them at pick 43. There...

When you hear about Georgia cornerbacks, many point to the blazing 40 time of Eric Stokes, who ran a 4.29 at his pro day. Last night, Stokes was taken at No. 29 by the Green Bay Packers. Now, the focus has to be on Tyson Campbell, who seems to be flying under the radar due to his teammate's speed. However, don't get it twisted. In my opinion, Tyson Campbell is the better prospect, being ranked as my No. 5 corner in the class, and would be a phenomenal fit with the 49ers. Traits Campbell is one of the more electrifying man-defense...

I know. I'm being bold with my prediction. But with just hours before Roger Goodell steps up to the podium and announces who the third pick will be, Trey Lance seems to be the selection. For the last month, betting odds have wavered, starting with Mac Jones as the heavy favorite once the trade was announced, then going to Justin Fields after his second pro day, and then once again becoming Mac Jones, before Trey Lance took over as the favorite on April 29th, just hours before the pick will be made. The Press Conference During the daunting press conference on...

I know. Zach Wilson has been deemed a "lock" to the Jets for the past month, much like Trevor Lawrence with the Jaguars. And his case was made stronger through the trade of Sam Darnold. Still, there is a valid argument that Zach Wilson could end up being a 49er in this draft due to fit concerns, and much more. Zach Wilson has been an electrifying prospect to watch, gaining notoriety especially for his off-balance throws, which many compare to those of Patrick Mahomes. Whenever a prospect's name is around the same vicinity as Patrick Mahomes, his potential is sky-high. However, despite all the Zach Wilson reports, I still believe that there is a possibility of Zach Wilson being the pick at...

On the morning of March 26th, the 49ers shocked the NFL world by moving up from pick No. 12 to pick No. 3 via a trade with the Dolphins, through which San Francisco gave up its next two first-round picks and a third-round pick to make the deal. Before the trade, there was still uncertainty with the quarterback position, since Jimmy Garoppolo's contract had not been restructured, meaning that his contract for the next year was not guaranteed yet, and therefore, could lead to him being traded. The move to No. 3 confirmed a quarterback change, but in 2022, not 2021, as Kyle Shanahan said publicly that Garoppolo would likely retain the starting job and give himself a chance to improve his stock, as well as disprove the injury concerns. Then, shockingly,...

Justin Fields. Mac Jones. Trey Lance. It seems like we have had an insurmountable number of rumors when it comes to these three quarterback prospects, mainly being linked to the San Francisco 49ers. However, it seems as if all those unknowns may be finally leading to something. On Saturday, Michael Lombardi, an NFL writer for the Athletic, came onto The Wrap with Patrick Meagher, and set the narrative straight: the 49ers are not going to draft Justin Fields. With all the speculation surrounding the three intriguing quarterback prospects, news like this is alarming. While I personally would select Fields at number three, eliminating him from the picture clears up the story for the 49ers. Almost all of the rumors surrounding the third pick...

In an offseason during which many players have decided to find new homes, there have been some prominent "winners" and "losers". When hearing about "winners" for the NFL offseason, the teams that are generally mentioned are the New England Patriots, New York Giants, and the Arizona Cardinals, due to their additions of prominent free agents. However, none of these teams' offseasons match that of one under-the-radar team that managed to retain almost every important pending free agent it had: the San Fransisco 49ers. With a combination of key re-signings, additions of potential starters, and acquisitions to increase depth, the 49ers were a sneaky team whose offseason was overlooked due to the amount of volatility surrounding other...

Patrick Mahomes. Jared Goff. Carson Wentz. Cam Newton. Russell Wilson. What do these names have in common? Well, all of these quarterbacks were first-string quarterbacks on Super Bowl teams (Wentz was injured, but was QB1 on the Eagles). Most importantly, they were all on their rookie contracts during the year their teams made the Super Bowl. On March 26, the San Fransisco 49ers sent a boatload of picks: the No. 12 pick, their next two first-rounders, AND a third-round compensatory selection in 2022 for the No. 3 pick this year. Given the magnitude of the trade and the amount the 49ers gave up, many were questioning whether the trade up to presumably grab a quarterback was worth it for the franchise. Recent History Well, recent...
