    Did anyone expect it to be this bad? Now, more than one quarter of the way through the season, the Niners seem to be destined to finish the year in the NFL's cellar along with the likes of the Bears, Jaguars, Buccaneers, and Browns. When a team struggles this mightily, fingers are pointed all across the board. It's clear that the 49ers have one of the worst offensive lines in football. However, this team lacks talent at key skill positions – mainly cornerback, wide receiver, tight end, and yes, quarterback. Furthermore, out of all of those positions, the hardest one to replace is undoubtedly the quarterback.     No team has suffered more significant losses this offseason than the Niners. It's not just the fact that four players retired, but two of those four players, Justin Smith and Patrick Willis, have 12 combined Pro Bowl appearances. Moreover, Chris Borland was the de-facto replacement for Patrick Willis at ILB, and Anthony Davis, arguably the least talented of the four, is still a former first-round pick, who seemed destined to anchor the 49ers offensive line for the next decade. Now, the team's talent level has appeared to have taken another bludgeoning with the sudden release of Aldon Smith, arguably the most talented player left on the 49ers defense after the recent flurry of retirements.     The 49ers have a plethora of guys coming back from injury this year. Year after year, we as 49er fans always seem to have a rash of injuries that hamper our starters. It's time to take a look at some impact players returning this year who were forced to miss substantial time last season. The list is in order from most impactful to least impactful returns. While you may not agree with the particular rankings, one thing is for sure, this team needed the offseason to rehab some key guys. Note all of the ACL injuries. 1.
