Upon Further Review: The 49ers Head to the Clink

Good news: the 49ers didn't lose last week.

Excuse the bad joke but I'm still jet-lagging.

Regardless of that I have re-joined AJ on our video podcasts this week as we look forward to this Sunday's game on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. In here we discuss key matchups against the Seahawks, we what expect out of Blaine Gabbert this Sunday, and our prediction for the game.



I'm also defiantly disagreeing with AJ on about half the games this week. Here are our picks for all games in Week 11 of the NFL as we look at the spreads.

CBS Sports ranks four NFL head coaches ahead of 49ers' Kyle Shanahan

Many consider San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan to be one of the most innovative young minds in football. After a massive rebuild that started in 2017, his squad reached the Super Bowl last season and was a play or two away from potentially winning a championship. The 49ers could be a formidable obstacle to opposing teams for years to come. Or everything could collapse. You never know in the NFL. But Shanahan is amid a championship window, and fans are waiting to see if he can take advantage of it. Writer Sean Wagner-McGough of CBS Sports recently ranked his top 10 NFL head coaches and listed Shanahan at No. 5 (h/t to Peter Panacy of Niner Noise).

Rich Eisen passionately explains why the 49ers had the best offseason in the NFL

CBS Sports recently listed the San Francisco 49ers as having the fourth-best offseason in the NFL. Frank Schwab of Yahoo Sports recently gave the team a C- when grading it's offseason moves. Rich Eisen of NBC Sports believes general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan did a lot better. In fact, he feels the 49ers had the best offseason in the NFL. Ex-49ers guard Mike Person announces retirement

Former San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Mike Person on Sunday announced his retirement from the NFL, according to 406mtsports.com. He spent the past two seasons with San Francisco and started at right guard in Super Bowl LIV in February.
