Mike Davis pays $1,878 bill at Michael Mina restaurant

Aug 17, 2015 at 7:50 AM--

Yesterday night, San Francisco 49ers running back Mike Davis posted a photo on Instagram of a $1,878.59 bill at a Michael Mina restaurant. With the photo of the receipt, he added the caption, "Welcome to the NFL rookie." Something tells us that he may have been with teammates and that paying for the bill was not his idea. Sorry Mike.

Mike, we know how much you love food. I mean, really love food. However, we bet you have never had a bill like this one.

Michael Mina, a die-hard 49ers fan, owns Bourbon Steak and Bourbon Pub at Levi's Stadium, as well as a number of other restaurants in other cities.

Welcome to the NFL rookie

Kyle Juszczyk: Kyle Shanahan and Mike McDaniel's vision makes the 49ers dangerous

By David Bonilla
Jul 21, 2021

Kyle Juszczyk spent his first four NFL seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before signing with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. The best fullback in the league re-signed with the team in March, ensuring he remains in the Bay Area through the 2025 season. It sounds like Juszczyk has no regrets about the decision to remain with head coach Kyle Shanahan. It's an offensive scheme that suits him and takes advantage of his unique versatility. Juszczyk may not have had the same opportunities with another organization. "I definitely have had the most fun in San Francisco because I am a little more featured," Juszczyk said this week on The Ross Tucker Football Podcast. "'Featured' is different as a fullback. I'm not the featured halfback or the No. 1 receiver. ...

Bulked-up 49ers tackle Mike McGlinchey doesn't go unnoticed

While San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has always expressed significant confidence in his right tackle, Mike McGlinchey, fans and analysts have often been less than complimentary while discussing the offensive lineman's career as a whole. In May, the 49ers exercised McGlinchey's fifth-year option, meaning he will be with the team through the 2022 season. Beyond that, who knows? After defending himself against critics for much of last season, McGlinchey eventually admitted that there was room for improvement. "I think there's a lot of things I did really well all year," McGlinchey said in December. "There's things I did a lot better than last year.

Jul 29, 2021

New San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel stepped up to the podium after Thursday's training camp practice. Due to past COVID restrictions and precautions, it was the first time he got to speak in person to the media since being promoted. "I'm just excited to be here," McDaniel said in his opening comments. "Equally excited for you guys to take in how physically imposing I am." McDaniel is 5-foot-9 and about 180 pounds after lunch. His sense of humor was well-accepted. Questions about rookie Trey Lance quickly presented themselves. The players had about 40 days off before reporting to training camp. Lance has been studying hard to learn head coach Kyle Shanahan's playbook since being drafted No. 3 overall by the 49ers in
