Candlestick Park, home of the 49ers from 1971 until 2013, is currently being demolished. The team moved to their new home, Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, in 2014.

That the team was able to replace one Hall of Fame quarterback, Joe Montana, with another, Steve Young, is remarkable. It set an extremely high standard in San Francisco.
