The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they have placed linebacker NaVorro Bowman and defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey on the injured reserve list, ending their seasons and hopes for potential comebacks.

To take their roster spots, the team has promoted cornerback Marcus Cromartie and guard Andrew Tiller from the practice squad to the active roster.

Bowman was attempting to return from an ACL and MCL injury that he suffered during last season's NFC Championship game in Seattle.

Dorsey was activated in November and was attempting to return from a biceps injury.
