First look: Kaepernick in Madden NFL 15

On Wednesday, EA SPORTS released the first photo from their upcoming Madden NFL 15 video game, scheduled to be released on August 26.

The photo features San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and looks pretty impressive.

Kaepernick signed a new 6-year, $126 million contract with the 49ers on Wednesday.

He remains a fan-favorite in the Bay Area, even this week as the San Francisco 49ers prepare to face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Gore is in his 16th NFL season. The future Hall of Fame running back figures to be a significant part of the Jets offense this weekend with Le'Veon Bell on injured reserve. Head coach Adam Gase confirmed this week that the 37-year-old running back would start against the 49ers — the team that drafted Gore in 2005. 49ers will look for injury help inside and outside organization

With as many players as the 49ers currently have on the sidelines due to injuries, chances are the team will be scanning the free agent market in the days ahead to see who can be brought in to help. But while they will certainly be open to the possibility of adding new players to the roster, they also expect the players they currently have to step up. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan discussed the issue after Sunday's 31-13 win over the New York Jets, which saw the team lose quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (high ankle sprain), defensive linemen Nick Bosa (knee/possible ACL tear) and Solomon Thomas (knee), and running backs Tevin Coleman (knee) and Raheem Mostert (knee). 49ers-Jets: Watch rookie Brandon Aiyuk steal first NFL catch

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk made his first NFL catch on Sunday against the New York Jets. It was an eight-yard gain on a pass from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
