49ers hope to get new deals done for 5 others

Sep 20, 2006 at 10:47 PM--

According to Matt Maiocco of the Press Democrat, the San Francisco 49ers hope to get new deals done for five other players. These players are RB Frank Gore, RB Maurice Hicks, OL Adam Snyder, OL Justin Smiley and FS Mike Adams.

Matt Maiocco:
It would behoove the 49ers to get a deal done with Adams because he is scheduled to be a restricted free agent at the end of the season. Adams was undrafted, so the 49ers would receive no compensation from a team that signs him to an offer sheet. However, the 49ers would have the right to match any offer, if it goes that far.

The 49ers gave starting left cornerback Shawntae Spencer a contract extension on Wednesday.

49ers-Jaguars: Kyle Shanahan 'holding out hope' that Elijah Mitchell could play, discusses Jeff Wilson, Trey Sermon

By David Bonilla
Nov 19

San Francisco 49ers rookie running back Elijah Mitchell is officially listed as "doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Head coach Kyle Shanahan is still hoping that the rookie could play, but the odds are against him. Mitchell suffered a finger fracture during Monday night's win over the Los Angeles Rams. The next day, he underwent a procedure to repair the damage. As a result, Mitchell has not practiced at all this week. The coach had hoped the team's leading rusher would get some work in during the three practices, but that never happened. "It's just how he feels with it," Shanahan explained. "And we thought it would be a little further along now. But obviously, it isn't. That's why he couldn't go today. We're holding out hope because

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters before Wednesday's practice. The team expects to activate veteran pass rusher Dee Ford and linebacker Dre Greenlaw from injured reserve this week and have both play against the Minnesota Vikings. "Dee Ford, we should activate tomorrow," Shanahan said. "We're not going to practice him today. We don't like him to go three days, so he'll get out there tomorrow, and hopefully, be good to go for Sunday." Ford landed on injured reserve on November 6 due to back issues. Greenlaw has been on injured reserve since September 18 due to a core muscle injury. This week is the linebacker's second of practice since his practice window opened. "He'll go today, and hopefully, he'll be ready to go this

49ers DE Nick Bosa 'starting to get the hang' of how to get high sack numbers

By Kirk Larrabee
Nov 21

Nick Bosa notched his ninth and tenth sacks of the 2021 season on Sunday, and if what he said after the game is any indication, there could be a lot more to come. Bosa collected those two sacks in the 49ers' 30-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, which was the seventh game this season where he's had at least one sack. He's now one ahead of the nine sacks he notched as a rookie in 2019 and is three away from league leader Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns. Watching players like Garrett, and others, who rack up high amounts of sacks has helped teach Bosa how to get big numbers of his own. "I think I've definitely improved a lot. I think I'm starting to get the hang of just how to really get sacks, get numbers," Bosa said Sunday. "My rookie year,
