Eric Reid remains on the field after a violent collision

San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid remained on the turf after a violent collision with Carolina Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert in the third quarter of Sunday's game. After a few minutes, he was finally able to sit up and then walk off of the field.

Reid, a rookie, was drafted by the 49ers in the first round of this year's NFL Draft. Prior to leaving the game, he had one tackle against the Panthers.

Shanahan: Trade status of 49ers WR Dante Pettis remains unchanged after injuries

The San Francisco 49ers may be down a couple of receivers in the near future due to injury, but that doesn't necessarily mean the team will pass up on a good trade offer for wide receiver Dante Pettis if one comes its way before the upcoming NFL trade deadline. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel sustained a hamstring injury in Sunday's 33-6 win over the New England Patriots, while wide receiver Richie James came down with an ankle injury. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters after the game that the exact severity of each injury and whether or not either player would miss time was unknown.
