The Tennessee Titans released quarterback Matt Hasselbeck on Monday. According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the San Francisco 49ers are one of a number of teams interested in the former Titan, Seahawk and Packer.
Teams interested in Matt Hasselbeck: AZ, Buff, Chi, Cin, Cleve, Indy, NO, NYG, SF & Tampa,...and list could grow.
Hasselbeck, who is 37, completed 457 of 739 passes for 4,938 yards, 25 touchdowns and 19 interceptions over the past two seasons with the Titans.
After trading quarterback Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs, the 49ers may be looking for a veteran backup for starter Colin Kaepernick. Right now, Scott Tolzien is the only other quarterback on the roster.
The 49ers tried to get Hasselbeck in 2011 after the lockout concluded. Hasselbeck chose the Titans over the 49ers.
