Ed Reed to possibly visit 49ers

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports is saying that free agent safety Ed Reed (Ravens) is visiting the Texans tomorrow and is flying to Houston tonight. He also mentions that possible meetings with the San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts may follow.

The 34 year old Reed was drafted in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He has been selected to nine Pro Bowls, was the 2004 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award winner, and holds the all-time NFL record for interception return yards, currently at 1,506.

Listed at 5-11 and 205 lbs, Reed had 58 tackles, 4 interceptions and a touchdown last season.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is set to earn about $25 million this year. Whomever they pick at No. 3 overall will have a cap hit of about $6.2 million in 2021, per OverTheCap.com.
