According to Pro Football Talk, Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed may not be headed to the San Francisco 49ers. Citing a source, they say that it is a smokescreen meant to create interest in the free agent.


Yesterday, it was rumored that Ed Reed may be on his way to San Francisco once free agency begins today at 1 PM.

Today, it was rumored that the 49ers are showing interest in New York Jets free agent safety LaRon Landry.

49ers TE Jordan Reed steps up with his biggest performance since 2018 in George Kittle's absence

With All-Pro tight end George Kittle sidelined with a knee issue and a number of wide receivers dealing with injuries of their own, the 49ers needed someone to step up and carry the weight in the pass-catching department against the New York Jets on Sunday. Jordan Reed, Jimmy Garoppolo earn PFF's highest grades from 49ers-Jets matchup

Analytics site Pro Football Focus released its grades from Sunday's Week 2 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Jets. The road-team Niners routed the home-team Jets 31-13 in a game that featured several injuries. One of those injuries was to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who did not return to the field after halftime and was later ruled "out" with a high-ankle sprain. Before the injury, Garoppolo played well, completing 87.5 percent of his passes for 131 yards with two touchdowns and a passer rating of 140.4. Garoppolo's 90.2 overall grade from Pro Football Focus was the second-highest from the game.
