According to Pro Football Talk, Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed may not be headed to the San Francisco 49ers. Citing a source, they say that it is a smokescreen meant to create interest in the free agent.
Yesterday, it was rumored that Ed Reed
may be on his way to San Francisco once free agency begins today at 1 PM.
Today, it was rumored that the 49ers are showing
interest in New York Jets free agent safety LaRon Landry.

49ers bring in familiar face for workout amidst roster injuries
The San Francisco 49ers are turning to a familiar face for a workout following injuries to two safeties, Talanoa Hufanga and George Odum. Hufanga suffered a torn ACL in Week 11, while Odum sustained a torn biceps on Thanksgiving.
