By David Bonilla
Oct 20

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters before today's practice. He informed the media that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo would be practicing but be limited. Rookie Trey Lance won't practice as he continues to recover from his injury. "It will be good to go out there and be full-go today," Shanahan said of Garoppolo. "I know he's limited because we've got to make sure he can do everything. We'll have a much better idea today, but I'm pretty optimistic about it." Garoppolo is returning from a calf injury suffered in a game against the Seattle Seahawks on October 3. Lance replaced the veteran quarterback in the game and then started the following weekend against the Arizona Cardinals, sustaining a knee sprain. The rookie quarterback's

It could get ugly. Not just the weather, although it is expected to be ugly this weekend in the Bay Area, but also the San Francisco 49ers offense. The 49ers have lost three games in a row, and seem to be struggling to "find themselves." The team's offense lacks identity right now. And this Sunday, on a soggy Levi's Stadium field, they likely will continue to struggle. But the 49ers won't just be battling the Indianapolis Colts. They will also be fighting sprains, strains and a whole lot of rain. First the weather. Lawrence Karnow, Chief Meteorologist of KRON-TV, was a guest on The Papa and Lund Show on KNBR Radio today to talk about Sunday's weather. He is predicting a big storm for the

Do the San Francisco 49ers have an identity crisis on offense? Former 49ers great, and current analyst, Joe Staley, thinks so. And he's not the only one. Staley went on KNBR's Papa & Lund show on Monday to talk 49ers. In addition to saying Kyle Shanahan will likely go back to Jimmy Garoppolo in two weeks, but that the offense is more exciting with Trey Lance, Staley spent some time talking about the identity of the team. Particularly, the identity of the offense. "What's been shocking to me is that, one of the things, too, has been that stretch zone, but all the play-action roll-outs, that was one of our identities, the keep game. And it hasn't been

49ers QB Trey Lance says he didn't take as many hits as it seemed against Cardinals

By Kirk Larrabee

On the surface, it may seem like 49ers quarterback Trey Lance took a bit too much punishment in his first NFL start, having carried the ball 16 times while being on the other end of two sacks and seven quarterback hits. But thankfully, Lance got out of the game unscathed and assured reporters afterwards the hits he took weren't as bad as they looked. Lance spoke to reporters following the 49ers' 17-10 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday, during which he ran for 89 yards while also throwing for 192 yards and one interception on 15-of-29 passing. He downplayed any concerns about the amount of hits he took, saying that most of them didn't exactly leave him in pain. "I didn't really think I took too many shots. I'm sure I'll see how I feel tomorrow. A lot of them were
