Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reported earlier today on his blog that the San Francisco 49ers have shown interest in Oakland Raiders free-agent wide receiver Chaz Schilens. However, Schilens is visiting the Arizona Cardinals today.

Schefter insists Patriots' interest in Mac Jones influenced 49ers trading up to No. 3

Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have insisted that the San Francisco 49ers were interested in Trey Lance since they started scouting this year's rookie quarterback class. For Shanahan, that process started in January after last season ended. The 49ers traded up to the No. 3 overall pick and eventually selected Lance despite most in the media and around the league believing that the target was Mac Jones of Alabama. The 49ers insist that Lance was always the player to beat in their minds. He was the one for whom they made the trade. ESPN's Adam Schefter disputed that

49ers-Eagles: Goal line stand turns the tide after shaky 49ers start

If there was one significant turning point in the San Francisco 49ers' 17-11 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, it was most likely the unexpected goal line stand members of the defense produced after a 91-yard pass put their backs against the wall in the second quarter. Down 3-0 to the Eagles with just over seven minutes remaining in the half, the 49ers had a long field behind them after a punt from Mitch Wishnowsky pinned the Eagles at their own three-yard line. But on the first play after the punt, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts went deep for wide receiver Quez Watkins, who went for 91 yards before being brought down by safety Jaquiski Tartt and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir at the 49ers' six-yard line. A pass interference call on cornerback Josh Norman two plays

It has been a rigorous offseason for San Francisco 49ers pass rushers Nick Bosa and Dee Ford. Both exited last season early due to injuries. First, a back injury sidelined Ford after Week 1. Then, during Week 2, Bosa exited after suffering a torn ACL on that awful MetLife Stadium field. What followed were two hellacious comebacks. But, the good news is that the end is in sight. Bosa and Ford will retake the field when the Niners open their season against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Sunday. Bosa showed off videos during his rehab, and the 2019 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year looked ahead of schedule during the process. Bosa's coaches never questioned the defensive end's work ethic. They know the pass rusher can accomplish whatever he sets his mind

Dan Campbell's admission reveals how Trey Lance is impacting Lions' prep work for 49ers

If the San Francisco 49ers had not drafted Trey Lance with the No. 3 overall pick, the Detroit Lions probably wouldn't be too worried about whoever was backing up Jimmy Garoppolo, assuming Garoppolo remained with the team. Instead, the Lions would be focused on stopping the veteran quarterback and him alone. There wouldn't be many thoughts about Nate Sudfeld or whoever sits behind him on the depth chart. The Niners did draft Lance, though. Then head coach Kyle Shanahan showed off an unorthodox game plan in the team's preseason finale against the Las Vegas Raiders, swapping between Garoppolo and Lance in the middle of drives. Maybe it was just to give Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell something to think about as he prepared for his Week 1 matchup against the 49ers. If that
